Celebrity Bear Hunt has been AXED as the show will not return for a second season

According to our exclusive report, Netflix has decided to cancel its expensive television program “Celebrity Bear Hunt” following the completion of a single season.

Despite the host’s optimism, the program, originally filmed in Costa Rica with Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls as co-hosts, will not be renewed for another season.

According to insiders, although the show broadcasted in February performed well in terms of viewership, it turned out to be quite costly to produce. As a result, Netflix is considering organizing more live events instead of producing prerecorded programs.

One informed TopMob: ‘Everybody felt incredibly proud of the performance, yet upon reflection, it turned out to be extremely costly to produce.’

In my expertise, I can tell you that hosting an event in a breathtaking location like Costa Rica, with a large team and numerous high-profile personalities, comes with significant costs. These expenses, let me assure you, can be quite staggering.

It is understood that cheaper locations were looked at but nothing was appeared to be suitable.

The upcoming news is likely to be disappointing for Grylls, as he had mentioned two weeks prior that plans for a second series were still uncertain, stating to Dermot O’Leary on Radio 2: “With a bit of luck, we’re just figuring that out at the moment.

The Celebrity Bear Hunt boasted a star-studded roster, featuring Mel B from the Spice Girls and tennis legend Boris Becker. It’s rumored that their appearance fees were quite substantial, as reported by our sources.

As an overjoyed fan, I was starstruck to rub shoulders with the likes of Lottie Moss, Danny Cipriani, Big Zuu, Joe Thomas, Kola Bokinni, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Leomie Anderson, Shirley Ballas, Steph McGovern, and Una Healy in this event. What an incredible gathering of talents!

In this new series on Netflix, Holly took part for the first time. The plot involves twelve well-known figures finding themselves in a jungle of Costa Rica, where they had to evade the hunt by Grylls. Throughout their journey, these celebrities encountered different obstacles and puzzles to solve.

44-year-old Holly became part of the show following her harrowing ordeal involving kidnapping, threats, and attempted crimes against her by a previous security officer, Gavin Plumb, who was convicted of planning to kidnap, sexually assault, and kill her last summer.

As soon as Grylls phoned her, she disclosed that she had promptly agreed to the proposal, a choice facilitated by her trio of kids, Harry, Belle, and Chester.

‘It felt like the right time for me,’ Holly told the Mail.

When Bear phoned and explained the concept of the program, I responded something like, “Ah, this seems fantastic! It’s not only intriguing for me, but it also appears to be a show that my children would adore, as they are already fond of Bear. So, making a decision was quite straightforward.

For quite some time, it seems that, perhaps due to my children being young, I’ve had a tendency to feel apprehensive about staying abroad for extended periods. This was true even during my trip to Australia for ‘I’m A Celebrity’, where my kids accompanied me.

This opportunity seemed incredibly thrilling. I often get a strong intuition about various productions, and when I feel it, I know I should trust it. In this case, my instinct was undeniably affirmative.

Netflix have been approached for comment.
