Celebrity Bake Off ‘signs up iconic British girlband star as she joins A-list line-up’

The popular show, Celebrity Bake Off, is getting more exciting – it’s said that a well-known British girl group member might soon be joining a crowd of famous faces under the tent.

In 2026, it’s expected that Mutya Buena, who was a member of the band Sugababes and is now 40 years old, will join Channel 4’s program to help collect funds for Stand Up To Cancer, as reported by The Sun.

According to a TV source, Mutya is planning on trying to secure a firm greeting from Paul Hollywood when she steps inside the tent.

She may not see herself as particularly skilled at baking, but since it’s for a charitable cause, she’ll probably give it a try.

TopMob has contacted Channel 4 and Mutya’s representative for comment.

After her participation in Celebrity MasterChef last year, where she faced difficulties during the cheesecake challenge, Mutya aims to feel more comfortable and gain confidence in the kitchen.

She is well-known for crafting a rich, biscuit base that was thick enough to serve as a doorstop.

Despite crashing out of the competition, the singer said she was proud of her progress.

She mentioned that her reason for participating in Celebrity MasterChef was her passion for cooking overall, and the fact that she particularly enjoys preparing meals for her loved ones.

‘I wanted to learn some new things in the kitchen, some new tricks that I could bring home.’

The upcoming Stand Up To Cancer special is already shaping up to be a star-studded affair.

Actress Ambika Mod, aged 29 and recognized from roles in “This Is Going To Hurt” and “One Day,” is said to join a tent along with popular Geordie Shore personality Vicky Pattison, who’s 37 years old.

Additionally, we have comedian Babatunde Aleshe (age 38), reality TV personality Molly-Mae Hague (age 26 from Love Island), and ex-Celebrity Big Brother competitor JoJo Siwa (age 22) joining the roster as well.

A diverse group will assemble, including RAG ‘N’ Bone Man (aged 40), broadcaster Edith Bowman (51), and frequent guest on 8 Out of 10 Cats Jon Richardson (42). They are all set to face the discerning eyes of Cherish Finden and Paul Hollywood in the renowned Bake Off tent.

The report about Mutya making an appearance has surfaced following Prue Leith, aged 85, revealing her intention to withdraw from all Great British Bake Off specials earlier in the year.

During the latest celebrity edition, food writer Caroline Waldegrave, aged 72, temporarily took over her role.

On “This Morning,” Prue openly discussed the news, clarifying that she’ll remain part of the primary program alongside Paul, who is 59 years old, but she won’t feature in any spin-off shows anymore.

The Great British Bake Off typically airs on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
