‘Celebrity A’ accused of raping 13-year-old during a VMAs afterparty hosted by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, lawsuit alleges
As a seasoned film enthusiast with a keen eye for the intricacies of Hollywood and its denizens, I find myself both captivated and disheartened by the latest developments surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs. The allegations against him, though long-standing, have taken on a new dimension with the recent unveiling of civil lawsuits that implicate not only Combs himself but also other unnamed celebrities.
Last month, when I learned about Sean “Diddy” Combs being indicted in a federal sex-trafficking investigation, it sparked a torrent of lawsuits claiming that this influential figure in the music industry repeatedly drugged and harassed men and women over many years without any hindrance.
However, the various accusations made during both criminal and civil proceedings didn’t fully address a crucial question that has been implied by lawyers, investigators, and online detectives: Who else might have been implicated in this matter?
For the initial time this week, other notable figures apart from Combs have faced accusations in civil court cases, allegedly taking part in physical attacks at parties organized by the founder of Bad Boy Records. Yet, these personalities remain unnamed in the proceedings.
This week, a federal lawsuit was filed in the Southern District of New York. The plaintiff, known as Jane Doe, alleges that she was just 13 years old when she was sexually assaulted by Sean Combs and another unnamed celebrity, referred to as Celebrity A in court documents. According to the lawsuit, a different female celebrity, identified as Celebrity B in the papers, was present during this alleged incident.
According to court documents, the woman claims that on September 7, 2000, her evening started outside Radio City Music Hall in New York City, where she attempted to gain entry to the Video Music Awards. She approached multiple limo drivers, including one who asserted he was employed by Combs, she stated.
According to the lawsuit, he informed her that Diddy preferred younger women, and she matched his preference. Later, the chauffeur suggested an afterparty and asked her to come back later that evening.
Upon her arrival, the driver escorted her to a grand, white mansion with an enclosed U-shaped driveway. Inside, she was requested to put her signature on a confidentiality contract, as per the allegations in the suit. The interior of the house was filled with opulence and extravagance. Servers moved around with drink trays, while upbeat music resonated throughout the mansion and guests were seen using cocaine and marijuana, according to the court filing.
Following the consumption of a mixed drink made from orange juice, cranberry juice, and something tangy, she claimed to have felt dizzy and sought refuge in an empty bedroom for rest. Upon entering this room, Combs was joined by two prominent figures. He advanced towards her with an unnerving expression, grabbed her, and exclaimed, “You’re up for a party!” according to the court documents.
A well-known man in the entertainment industry is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman, with reports suggesting that Combs and an anonymous female celebrity were among those who observed the incident. Further allegations state that after this initial assault, Combs himself then perpetrated another sexual assault, also witnessed by the other two celebrities, as per the lawsuit.
Combs’ attorneys denied the latest allegations in a statement.
They stated that the press conference and hotline number held before the wave of submissions on Sunday were obvious efforts to gain attention from the public. Mr. Combs and his legal team are certain about the facts, their defense strategies, and the fairness of the judicial system. In court, they believe the truth will emerge: that Mr. Combs has never committed sexual assault, regardless of the age or gender of the alleged victim.
As a fervent supporter, I’m sharing this: Attorney Tony Buzbee, in his capacity as legal counsel for over a hundred individuals claiming to be victims of Combs’ alleged misconduct, has previously declared his intention to disclose the identities of celebrities implicated in these accusations. During a press conference last month, he hinted that the names revealed in the lawsuits would elicit astonishment, expressing they would “shock.
Last month, Buzbee mentioned that many of you might have expected or wished for me to begin revealing names. However, the day for that revelation is not today, but rest assured, it will happen eventually.
But it hasn’t happened.
Multiple representatives for top Hollywood stars expressed concern to The Times that their clients might unintentionally become connected, or associated, with Combs due to attending his parties. Many of these reps have clients who are regular attendees at Combs’ events.
It’s said that Buzbee is capitalizing on people’s apprehension regarding potential involvement. The lawyer based in Texas has previously asserted that he has struck agreements with several prominent figures who might be associated with Combs.
Buzbee did not return a phone call from The Times seeking additional comment.
David Ring, an attorney known for advocating on behalf of survivors of sexual crimes in significant California cases, stated that keeping unnamed celebrities potentially implicated in misconduct provides the legal teams representing the victims with a strong bargaining chip during settlement negotiations.
He stated that if a celebrity is exposed, they usually stand firm and refute all accusations, fighting tirelessly until the end. Interestingly, if offered a chance for swift resolution and anonymity, most celebrities are quick to take it, as they prefer to avoid having their names made public in such matters.
This week, another lawsuit was filed by Buzbee, accusing Combs. An anonymous personal trainer, referred to as John Doe, claims he was coerced into performing oral sex on an unnamed male celebrity, who allegedly drugged him, during a party at Combs’ Hollywood Hills residence following an awards show in June 2022.
During moments of being partially conscious at the gathering, others compelled the Plaintiff into participating in sexual activities with both male and female attendees. Due to his physical condition, he was unable to refuse or exert control over his own body. These individuals, including Combs, appeared to treat Plaintiff’s drugged body as a shared item for their sexual pleasure, similar to a party gift. According to the lawsuit, this is the account of events that transpired.
This week, U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman instructed lawyer Tony Buzbee to submit a motion that would enable the personal trainer involved in the case to use an alias. Additionally, he mandated the submission of a confidential declaration revealing the trainer’s identity and the identities of any parties not mentioned in the court complaint, which should be kept secret.
54-year-old Combs is still detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, following his denial of charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. He has refuted numerous allegations of abuse that have been detailed in at least 18 civil lawsuits filed against him over the past year.
According to federal prosecutors, the criminal charge suggested a vast scheme involving several individuals who allegedly targeted victims, coordinated sexual exhibitions known as “freak-offs”, cleaned up and concealed evidence to dodge unwanted attention and investigation.
Damian Williams, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, stated when revealing the charges: ‘Combs didn’t act alone. He leveraged his business, its employees, and his close confidants to achieve his goals.’
Federal prosecutors hinted earlier this month that Diddy (Combs) could be hit with a new, expanded indictment, potentially leading to additional charges against him and possibly others as well.
