Two important stars are taking up permanent residence in Sheriff Country.
Starring Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey Fox, Sheriff Country is a new series connected to the popular CBS show Fire Country, which premiered in October 2025. The cast also includes Christopher Gorham (known from Ugly Betty), Michele Weaver (Love Is), Matt Lauria (Friday Night Lights), and W. Earl Brown (Scream). Despite the first season still broadcasting weekly episodes until its May finale, the show was quickly renewed for a second season in December 2025.
According to Deadline, CBS has decided to promote two actors to series regulars for season 2 of Sheriff Country. Amanda Arcuri, who played Skye Fraley in seven episodes of the first season, and Ian Quinlan, who appeared in four episodes as Deputy Hank Iglesias, will both be main cast members. Arcuri’s character is the daughter of Mickey Fox and ex-wife of Travis Fraley, while Quinlan’s character is a rival to Deputy Cassidy Campbell.
This will be Quinlan’s first time as a main cast member in a continuing TV series, although he previously had a leading role as SPC Robert Arsiaga in the 2017 National Geographic miniseries, The Long Road Home. He’s familiar with long-running shows, however, having appeared as Officer Luis Badillo in 29 episodes of CBS’ Blue Bloods across seasons 12, 13, and 14.
Unlike Skye Fraley, Arcuri has a lot of experience as a leading actress. She first appeared in 2001’s Degrassi as Lola Pacini and continued playing that character through all four seasons of the 2016 reboot, Degrassi: Next Class. However, after that show ended in 2017, her current role marks her first major part in about ten years.
Although Skye Fraley and Hank Iglesias are now main cast members, they won’t necessarily be in every episode of Sheriff Country season 2. However, they will appear much more often. Because their stories are already closely connected to the existing characters, there’s plenty of opportunity to include them in the new season’s plots, even though we don’t yet know exactly what those plots will be since the season 1 finale hasn’t aired.
It’s currently unclear how long these characters will stay on the show. However, the success of the cast on Fire Country suggests they could potentially appear in many seasons if the show is renewed beyond season 2. Although the show hasn’t promoted any recurring actors to main roles yet, the core cast has remained largely consistent for the first three seasons, with four of the original six still present.
Since Sheriff Country is still developing its characters and ongoing plots, bringing on Amanda Arcuri and Ian Quinlan as series regulars now is a smart move. They have the opportunity to become key members of the main cast and help shape the show’s future as it hopefully continues for many seasons.
Sheriff Country season 1 airs on CBS on Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET.
