CBS Cancels New Sitcom With 86% RT Score After 1 Season
The network has made the decision that certain shows will not be renewed for another season, even though they received favorable criticism. Unfortunately, the show “Poppa’s House” was terminated prior to its complete first season airing.
In an unexpected move, CBS has decided not only to cancel but two of its shows: “Poppa’s House” and “The Summit.” The sitcom from Damon Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr., which debuted in October 2024 to favorable criticism, unfortunately didn’t manage to secure a continued spot on the network. Despite this, the final episode of “Poppa’s House” will air later this month, marking its conclusion after 18 episodes.
The show “Poppa’s House” was developed by Danny Wayans Sr. and Kevin Hench. The series features Danny Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr., portraying a father-son pair. Essence Atkins and Tetona Jackson also played significant roles, with Essence as Dr. Ivy Reed, Poppa’s new co-host, and Tetona as Nina.
