Cause of Death Revealed for All My Children Star Esta TerBlanche
The cause of death for All My Children star Esta TerBlanche has been revealed.
According to a statement from the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner, it was determined that TerBlanche’s death was due to an intracranial bleeding incident.
The department determined that the bleeding was caused by a ‘traumatic head injury from blunt force, probably resulting from a fall from ground level.’
Her death has been determined to be an accident.
The announcement mentioned that TerBlanche, who tragically passed away at the age of 51, was discovered unconscious at her home on July 19, 2024. Emergency responders confirmed her death at around 11:10 AM.
On July 22, an autopsy was performed by the acting medical examiner, and on January 29, they officially determined the cause and manner of her passing.
TMZ reports that TerBlanche has since been interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.
Speaking to People magazine in July, her manager Anne Spoliansky expressed deep sadness with the following announcement: ‘We have been left heartbroken by this unfortunate event.’
In my own words, I’d express that Esta was incredibly compassionate, full of love, generous, and always thoughtful.
Spoliansky added, ‘Her affection for both people and creatures ran incredibly deep. She nurtured and tended to squirrels daily, treated her two cats and newly adopted kittens as if they were her own offspring.’
‘Esta always showed nothing but kindness and warmth towards me, and I am thankful for having had her in my life as long as I did. Hearing about her demise leaves me heartbroken.’
In July, the South African actress sadly died at her home in California, a fact that her goddaughter Barbie Ashley had earlier shared with TMZ.
Approximately a day had passed when TMZ reported that medical professionals estimated she had likely been deceased in the North Hollywood residence prior to being found.
The star was found dead in her bathroom by her assistant, insiders previously told the outlet.

TerBlanche’s career took off after she won Miss Teen South Africa in 1991.
She was best known for her role as Gillian Andrassy in American sitcom All My Children.
Initially, she made her mark by portraying Bienkie Naudé Hartman in the South African drama Egolim between 1992 and 1995, a character she embodied during this period.
In 2001, the character portrayed by TerBlanche on All My Children, a character often causing mischief similar to a royal troublemaker, was written out of the series so she could return to her native South Africa.

From 1997 until their divorce in 2008, she was wedded to André Kock. The separation was disclosed by TerBlanche during a conversation with Soap Opera Digest.
The TV star reportedly took a break from acting, returned to Los Angeles and opened a healing spa.
She is survived by her ex-husband André Kock, and her goddaughter.
