Catherine Tyldesley will be leaving the mystery series The Good Ship Murder. The show has been renewed for a fourth season, and Shayne Ward will return as the main character, Jack Grayling.
The show premiered in 2023, and actress Tyldesley has played the role of First Officer Kate Woods since the very beginning.
It’s now known that she’ll be making one last appearance as the character in the first episode of the new season, as a special guest.
The series The Good Ship Murder follows detective and cabaret singer Grayling as he investigates murders that happen both on a cruise ship and in the ports it visits. Season four will feature a new set of adventures filled with mystery and peril, and will also include appearances by guest stars.
With Woods leaving, Jack is entering a dynamic new period filled with challenges, shifting partnerships, and surprising developments.

It’s not unexpected that Catherine Tyldesley is leaving the show, especially since she returned to Coronation Street last year to reprise her role as Eva Price and take on the Rovers Return. She’s currently involved in a difficult storyline where her partner’s teenage son is being manipulated by a coach.
The Good Ship Murder airs on 5, with a season four release date yet to be confirmed.
