Catherine Tyldesley REJOINS Coronation Street!

It’s said that Catherine Tyldesley will be reprising her iconic character, Eva Price, on the famous soap opera Coronation Street.

The actress, 41, made her name when she was cast as the glamorous barmaid on the ITV soap in 2011.

In the show, she was portrayed as the television offspring of Stella Price, acted by soap opera actress Michelle Collins from EastEnders. Interestingly, in the storyline, she was additionally revealed to be the estranged child of Leanne Battersby, played by Jane Danson.

In 2018, Catherine left the cobblestones behind, and it’s reported that producers have been attempting to persuade her to return for quite some time. This summer, she is set to start filming once more.

According to a source, Cath took some time off and worked on multiple assignments, yet she deeply missed Coronation Street.

‘They’ve tried to get her back a few times but the stars have never aligned.

However, when the notion of bringing Eva back was proposed, it seemed like a chance that was simply too enticing to ignore.

TopMob has contacted Catherine’s representatives and ITV for comment.  

While on the TV show, Eva was notably involved with Aidan Connor (portrayed by Shayne Ward), however, it was revealed that Aidan was unfaithful to her, as he had an affair with Maria Connor (played by Samia Longchambon).

In retaliation upon learning the truth, Eva feigned a pregnancy and splurged Aidan’s funds on a pink Range Rover instead.

Later on, the couple got engaged, but during the wedding ceremony, Maria unexpectedly stormed in to reveal the truth about the supposed pregnancy that was actually false.

Not long after, Eva found out that she was indeed carrying a child fathered by Aidan, and chose to hand the infant over to her half-sibling, Toyah Battersby (played by Georgia Taylor).

Not long after this incident, Aidan tragically ended his life in 2017, leading Eva to form a bond with baby Susie. Eventually, she departed from the cobbles in the back of a cab with the infant.

Later on, Catherine appeared in the brief-running sitcom titled Scarborough, where she took the main part, and she was also cast as a principal character in the musical adaptation of Bonnie & Clyde. Regrettably, this production was halted midway through its tour due to disappointing ticket sales.

This intriguing series resumed its second season in January, promising more mystery and excitement!

2023 saw her embroiled in the peculiar “cake controversy” when a baker declined a PR’s demand for complimentary cakes for the actress’ grand celebration event.

The news of Catherine’s return has emerged, not long after she hinted that she might one day reappear, stating “I’d never say never” about it.

She shared with Prima magazine that while Coronation Street seems like a distant memory, she continues to reflect upon it with immense warmth.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m always open to new experiences, especially when presented with an extraordinary narrative that resonates with me. Time and circumstance play crucial roles in my decisions, so while I may not actively seek out past opportunities, I can never definitively rule them out.
