Catherine O’Hara’s Hit Addams Family Adaptation Officially Comes To Netflix This Month

Fans can soon enjoy a new version of the Addams Family on Netflix. While the family has been featured in numerous films and TV shows over the years, a classic installment starring the late Catherine O’Hara is coming to the streaming service later this year.

The 2019 animated film The Addams Family, featuring Carolyn Hennesy as the voice of Grandma Frump, will be available to stream on Netflix starting February 20th. The movie was a financial success, earning $203 million worldwide on a budget of $24 million.

The first Addams Family movie in 2019 was successful enough to get a sequel in 2021. That second film also did well in theaters, earning $119 million despite only costing $23 million to make. Plus, you can now watch The Addams Family 2 on Netflix starting February 20th.

News broke on January 30, 2026, of O’Hara’s death after she was discovered at her home. Her representatives at CAA told The Hollywood Reporter that she had passed away following a short illness.

She specifically praised the 2019 film for its important theme of embracing individuality and accepting differences, rather than expecting everyone to conform.

Netflix has found major success with its Addams Family series, especially the show Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega. A third season is planned and is expected to be released on Netflix around 2027.
