Catfish host Nev Schulman is home from the hospital... after breaking his neck in a motorcycle accident that almost left him paralyzed

As a die-hard fan of Nev Schulman, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of relief and admiration after learning about his miraculous recovery from the motorcycle accident. This man, who brings light and understanding to so many people through his work on Catfish, has once again shown his resilience and strength in the face of adversity.

After enduring a severe motorcycle mishap several days ago, resulting in a fractured neck, Nev Schulman has returned home safely to be with his loved ones.

Last week, the 39-year-old host of Catfish got into an accident involving a truck on his way to collect his two-year-old son Cy from school.

The media personality shares Cy as well as Cleo, seven, and Beau, five, with wife Laura Perlongo.

On a sunny Sunday, I couldn’t help but take to Instagram and fill my 268,000 fellow fans in on the latest about my beloved’s health status.

Sharing a heartwarming video of Cleo consoling her father, who was lying in bed with a neck brace, the mother of three expressed, “He’s back,” accompanied by weeping eye and red heart emoticons.

In this segment of the video, Cleo assisted her father by propping up a pillow for his comfort. Meanwhile, her mother stood near the open door, capturing the moment on film.

Another snippet showed the tot delivering a handmade card to Schulman as she sang the 1997 song Tubthumping by Chumbawamba.

To boost her father’s healing process, she sang the words: ‘I fall, but rise once more / They might knock me back / But I won’t stay defeated.’

On the 5th of August, Monday, Nev found himself urgently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit due to a muscle-controlling nerve break – an injury with potential consequences of permanent paralysis.

Despite concerns, Schulman reassured fans by posting on Instagram on Saturday, August 10, that he is expected to fully recover.

He shared multiple videos showcasing himself, dressed in a neck brace, at the hospital. One video showed him gradually getting up from his bed with assistance from two hospital workers.

The MTV personality wrote in a lengthy caption, ‘I broke my neck. C5 and C6 to be exact. Stable fractures. I’m not paralyzed. My hands were a question mark there for a minute but the human body is incredible and so are HUMANS.’

He also stressed to his nearly two million followers that ‘life can change in an instant.’

In his carousel post, he shared a close-up image of a gruesome gash along the back of his neck.

Additionally, he shared X-ray images that demonstrated the degree of internal harm inflicted by the accident, as well as the progress of his healing process so far.

Schulman included touching images and videos of his family offering support and solace at the hospital bedside.

In one photo, wife Laura cuddled next to him in his bed as they both smiled.

In his post’s description, he expressed his admiration: “The exceptional knowledge and concern shown by everyone in the healthcare field has truly been astounding.”

‘Starting with the EMS and on to the Southampton Emergency Room and the Stony Brook ICU. It’s hard to feel sorry for myself when I hear from the doctors about how many people with similar injuries will never walk again.’

Schulman stated: ‘I feel blessed to be here, alive, able to stand and embrace my loved ones, expected to fully recover.’

In retrospect, I am coming to truly appreciate the essence of gratitude. The small and significant events that took place in my life before the accident have become crystal clear, and they hold a newfound significance. As I navigate through this new chapter, I find myself counting my blessings more than ever. I am learning to cherish each moment, for it is the sum total of these moments that make up the tapestry of our lives. The experience has been humbling, and I have come to realize that even the most trying times can serve as catalysts for growth and appreciation.
