During the 2023 Miami Film Festival, Angelique Jackson, a senior entertainment writer for Variety who was leading a discussion with him, playfully urged Nicolas Cage to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. True to form, Cage responded in a characteristically unique way, saying:

K-dramas on streaming platforms are known for their limited-run series, but they’ve also started trying out different ways to tell stories. Following the success of 28 Days Later in 2002, the series continued with 28 Weeks Later in 2007, but with a new set of characters battling the Rage Virus. After a long pause, a new trilogy began in 2025 with 28 Years Later, followed by 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple in 2026. While 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple received positive reviews, its poor performance at the box office now casts doubt on whether the third film in the trilogy will be made.
It can be hard for fans of psychological thrillers to find new movies they’ll enjoy. However, many excellent films in this genre haven’t gotten the attention they deserve, often because they were overlooked by studios or released alongside bigger blockbusters. Regardless of why, these hidden gems are definitely worth watching.
