David Goyer has a long history of bringing comic books and sci-fi stories to life on screen. He’s been writing and creating for over three decades, with credits including the Blade movies, Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, and the Superman movies starring Henry Cavill. He’s also created shows like Constantine, Foundation, and The Sandman. But one show he made, while overlooked when it first aired, is actually even more impressive today.

According to Deadline, Lilla and Nora Zuckerman will be writing the script for the next Scream movie, Scream 8. The sisters recently ran the popular Peacock series Poker Face, which was unfortunately canceled after two seasons. They’ve also written for several other TV shows, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fringe, and Suits. Interestingly, this new role is somewhat meta: in the 2022 Scream film, a character directed a fictional movie within the Scream universe (Stab 8)—and that character was none other than Rian Johnson, the director of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, who faced criticism from some fans. Hopefully, the Zuckermans’ experience will be a positive one this time around.

Based on Andy Weir’s 2021 science fiction novel, Project Hail Mary has been a surprisingly big hit in theaters. Even without being part of a larger franchise – something most successful movies rely on these days – the film, starring Ryan Gosling, has become both a critical and commercial success, and audiences are really enjoying it. The show is also performing well on Amazon, landing at number 10 on the platform’s list of top TV shows available for purchase.

The French series, created by Marie Monge and Vladimir de Fontenay, launched globally on HBO Max on March 27th. New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays throughout April, and each episode is approximately 52 minutes long.
