I finally got around to watching the new Billy Idol documentary on Hulu – it’s called ‘Billy Idol Should Be Dead’ – and seriously, it’s amazing! It’s so good, I’d even say it’s worth getting a Hulu subscription just to see it, if you don’t already have one.
The story of the Power Rangers became increasingly complex over the years. In March 2017, Lionsgate attempted to streamline it with a reboot film, also titled Power Rangers, featuring a new cast. Dacre Montgomery, who would soon become known for his role as Billy Hargrove in Stranger Things, played Jason Scott, the Red Ranger. The film also starred Bryan Cranston as the voice and guiding force of Zordon, Bill Hader as his robotic helper Alpha 5, and Elizabeth Banks as the villain Rita Repulsa.
People said there was a scheduling problem, but really, two huge cultural forces just didn’t align. Bob Dylan was shifting towards a softer, country sound during his Nashville period, while the film Midnight Cowboy was on the verge of making history as the only X-rated movie to win Best Picture. Although Dylan’s song perfectly captured the film’s spirit, it couldn’t be released in time. The result was a strange mirroring of success: the movie became iconic for a generation, and the song cemented Dylan’s legendary status – both forever connected by a missed opportunity.

It involved a 13-year-old boy named Jordan Chandler and his family, who claimed Jackson had assaulted him – they’d met through his stepfather’s business. Though no criminal charges were filed, a civil lawsuit was eventually settled for a reported $25 million in 1994. I was really excited about a planned movie, Michael, which was meant to start in 1993 with a dramatic scene of him looking in a mirror as police lights flashed at Neverland Ranch. Apparently, the filmmakers had envisioned a powerful opening showing investigators searching his home for evidence. But according to Variety, that whole scene had to be cut because of a clause in the settlement with Jordan Chandler, which legally prevented any mention of him in a film. It’s frustrating to learn about how that impacted the project.
I’m still really excited to see CD Projekt Red continuing to support Cyberpunk 2077! They’ve said they probably won’t release any huge expansions like Phantom Liberty again, but they’re still planning improvements. In fact, a new update is coming out tomorrow, and they’re calling it a “serious upgrade” – which is awesome! It’s great they haven’t abandoned the game completely.
Netflix is also working hard to become a leader in action-thriller shows. Its series The Night Agent successfully captures the appeal of Reacher, and the platform offers several classic action titles worth watching again. A great example is Cobra Kai, which continues the story of The Karate Kid.
Taylor Sheridan is most famous for creating the popular Yellowstone world of shows, including Tulsa King, Lioness, and Landman. He’s also a successful film writer and director, with credits like the screenplays for Sicario (2015) and Hell or High Water (2016), and having both written and directed Wind River (2017).
Brad Winderbaum, a top executive at Marvel Studios, recently shared on The Escape Podcast that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, starring Tatiana Maslany, was a huge streaming success – one of their most-watched shows ever. Despite its popularity, a second season hasn’t been announced, though Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm for continuing the series.
