Comic book fans across the US and Canada are getting excited for Free Comic Book Day 2026! Major publishers are releasing a lot of special, free comics just for the event.

Director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna brought back the original cast for the new movie, and they’ve successfully captured the feel of the first film. A lot has changed in the fashion world over the past twenty years, which allows characters like Andy and Miranda to grow and change in believable ways. Although the sequel isn’t quite as polished or emotionally impactful as the original, it’s still a worthwhile follow-up thanks to its grand scope, beautiful imagery, and undeniable appeal.

Some sequels are just disappointing copies of the original, offering nothing new and sometimes even damaging the reputation of the first film. On the other hand, a rare few actually justify their existence, occasionally reaching or even exceeding the quality of the original. A great recent example of a successful sequel is probably , which skillfully blended familiar elements with fresh ideas.
