I think Netflix might have a real hidden gem on their hands with Firebreak (2026)! I was totally hooked – it’s a suspenseful thriller that cleverly uses environmental issues to build tension. Honestly, it’s been a huge streaming success, and I think that’s because the idea is so unique, it mixes genres really well, and the actors and director are seriously underrated. It makes me wonder if Netflix will start giving Spanish-language films more attention going forward, which I’d love to see!
Netflix has popular shows like Bridgerton, its most famous romance, and lesser-known favorites like Forever. Even though Netflix doesn’t have as many romance shows and doesn’t promote them as heavily, they still do well because viewers consistently return for each new season.
Several other Netflix series were also canceled, but they ran for a good amount of time and made a real impact. This was especially true for its Marvel shows – including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders – which all lasted multiple seasons before ending. While the cancellations were sudden, these shows had the chance to develop their storylines and ultimately paved the way for continuations on Disney+ with Marvel Studios.
