So, I’ve been hearing a ton about this new game where you play as Eve, and she’s trying to save the world from some seriously scary monsters. Apparently, it’s broken records – people are saying it’s the biggest launch for a brand new PlayStation game ever. I’m guessing that means sales across both PlayStation and PC, but it doesn’t seem to include Helldivers 2 in that comparison.
There’s been a lot of exciting news about Stellar Blade lately. A sequel is officially in the works, and even bigger news – the original Stellar Blade is now coming to multiple platforms. The game was already a hit when it launched and continues to grow in popularity and sales.
The sequel to the popular game Stellar Blade is in development and will likely be released on multiple gaming systems. A recent job posting from developer Shift Up indicates Stellar Blade 2 is a large-scale, high-quality action game that continues the story and universe of the original, and it seems the already passionate fanbase is about to grow even larger.
SHIFT UP aims to launch the sequel to Stellar Blade and a new action RPG called Project Spirits by 2027. These games are part of a broader strategy to grow their game franchises, including Goddess of Victory: NIKKE and expanding Stellar Blade to more platforms. If a version of Stellar Blade for the Nintendo Switch 2 is in the works, it would align with these expansion plans.
Tides of Annihilation is currently being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Stellar Blade is now available on PlayStation 5 and on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game reached over 3 million copies sold within five days of the PC release on June 11th. As a way to celebrate this achievement, SHIFT UP gave around 300 of its employees Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
Players will notice the download labeled as Stellar Blade update 1.014.001, which the developers at Shift Up are calling the 1.4.1 update.
The recent preview doesn’t come with much information, except for one clue: a caption stating “in one week…”. This likely means we’ll find out what it is next week, and it might even be released then.
Apart from its striking physical design, Stellar Blade presented a new and vibrant feel, boasting challenging boss fights, an electrifying soundtrack, and substantial content – more than enough to engage players for numerous hours.
