The announcement of the expansion likely won’t surprise dedicated fans. FromSoftware’s parent company, Kadokawa, hinted at Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree plans during their earnings report on November 6th. They initially said new content would arrive before their fiscal year ended in March 2026. However, they’ve now confirmed a specific release date, moving beyond that initial timeframe.
Elden Ring became a massive hit in 2022, quickly gaining popularity and winning numerous Game of the Year awards thanks to its challenging combat and stunning visuals. Its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, also received critical acclaim. More recently, in early 2025, Elden Ring: Nightreign offered a streamlined and enjoyable multiplayer experience. Now, players can look forward to even more new content being added to the game.

Seriously, a lot of people skip them, but they give you a ton of Trial EXP, which is how you level up your Trial Rank – basically, your account level. Why does that matter? Well, your Trial Rank determines how high you can level up your characters and unlock their Ascension stuff. If you fall behind on quests, you’ll hit a wall and won’t be able to progress, so staying on top of them is a lifesaver!
