Cate Blanchett’s Shocking Oscars Suggestion Will Leave Fans Furious

Cate Blanchett made a very bizarre suggestion that won’t go over well with millions of people.

The award-winning actress (with multiple accolades, including an Oscar) expressed her belief that Hollywood’s award ceremonies shouldn’t be broadcasted on television.

In her latest interview on the Las Culturistas podcast with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, she expressed a desire for awards ceremonies to return to an era where they weren’t broadcasted on television.

In conversation about areas that offer privacy, Cate pointed out that currently, there are very limited places where one can be alone without the potential threat of being secretly recorded via mobile devices.

She fondly remembered the ’80s, particularly attending dance parties in Sydney during Mardi Gras. As she reminisced, she said everyone was present.

They were all there, really enjoying themselves as a group without any hostility. There was no recording or concern about others’ actions. Instead, they were just living in the moment and having fun.

Hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang noted how privacy is even more elusive in the era of TikTok.

Particularly notable was their focus on the increasing popularity of lip reading analysis, as seen in instances where it’s used to dissect celebrity moments during award ceremonies and various other broadcasted events.

Currently, it seems as though the gap between such events and that ideal is growing increasingly vast compared to what commonly occurs at award ceremonies these days, where there are lip readers present, and one is constantly being photographed, Yang explained.

‘Lip readers?’ Blanchett said confusedly.

In simpler terms, Yang and Rogers discussed how TikTok users are trying to understand the words spoken by famous people when the camera focuses on them.

Yang said the lip readers make Hollywood events feel ‘treacherous’ and Blanchett agreed.

As a die-hard fan, I find myself longing for the days gone by, the times when this spectacular event was not yet broadcast on television. If given the chance, I’d love to recreate those moments, to bring back that era and throw an unforgettable bash where we can all let loose and enjoy without any boundaries.

‘The industry is currently in a state of disarray, teetering on a crucial juncture. This could either be an exhilarating or disheartening phase, but it’s undeniably a turning point. Therefore, it seems essential that we unite and acknowledge the value of our work, without needing any external validation.’

She added, “The style is fantastic, and it’s all quite impressive. In the end, we’ll discover who emerged victorious or who didn’t.

It would be delightful if such an event could transpire privately, making it an entirely unique experience.

Cate Blanchett has been awarded the Oscar twice, once in 2005 as the Best Supporting Actress for her role in “The Aviator”, and again in 2014 as the Best Lead Actress for “Blue Jasmine”.

Apart from her six additional Academy Award nominations, she is certainly well-versed on the subject.

To put it simply, I firmly believe that the Academy Awards won’t be disappearing from our TV screens any time soon. It seems quite improbable for them to do so.

The annual awards ceremony has been televised since the 25th Oscars in 1953.

Right now, Cate is actively marketing the thriller titled “Black Bag,” a production that boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Michael Fassbender, Pierce Brosnan, Rege-Jean Page, Naomie Harris, and Marisa Abela.

The film titled “Black Bag” under the guidance of director Steven Soderbergh, focuses on renowned spies George Woodhouse, played by Michael, and his wife Kathryn Woodhouse, portrayed by Cate.

‘George Woodhouse, an intelligence officer, is confronted with a heart-wrenching dilemma when his wife Kathryn is accused of treason against the nation. His allegiance must now be split between his devotion to his marriage and his duty to his country.’

A few days prior to the March 14 launch of Black Bag, she openly expressed her views about social and Hollywood injustices that exist at large.

She informed The Guardian that we are still far from achieving equal pay. Merely discussing the issue loudly does not necessarily imply that appropriate actions have been taken.

It seems there is a higher accumulation of wealth compared to any other period in human history. The results of this are evidently clear.
