Catch up on these 8 streaming premieres you may have missed, this weekend! (Aug. 31 - Sept. 1)

As someone who’s been binge-watching shows since the days of VHS tapes (remember those?), I can confidently say that this weekend is shaping up to be a real treat for fellow TV enthusiasts like myself! With so many exciting new series hitting our screens, it’s a struggle to choose which one to dive into first.

One of the things I eagerly anticipate about the weekend is the chance to unwind and binge-watch shows I haven’t had time for during the week. Unfortunately, there are no new series airing this weekend, Aug. 31 – Sept. 1. But don’t worry! There’s plenty of content that has been released earlier in the week and on Friday that you might have missed. Here’s a complete list: [List of shows]

  • Only Murders in the Building season 4 – premiered Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024 on Hulu
  • Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 – premiered Thursday, Aug. 29 on Prime Video
  • Terminator: Zero – premiered Aug. 29 on Netflix
  • KAOS – premiered Aug. 29 on Netflix
  • Represent season 2 (international title) – premiered Aug. 29 on Netflix
  • The Serpent Queen season 2 finale – released Friday, Aug. 30 on Starz
  • K-Pop Idols – released Aug. 30 on Apple TV+
  • Breathless (international title) – released Aug. 30 on Netflix

Are you prepared to dive in? Would you like me to provide additional information or focus on specific options? Here are three shows that I suggest you take a look at over the weekend: [Show 1], [Show 2], and [Show 3]!

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2

At last, the much-anticipated second season of “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has made its debut! Amazon Prime Video dropped the initial three episodes from this eight-episode series on Thursday. Given all the other shows coming out and packed schedules, it’s possible you haven’t had a chance to watch yet. Maybe you’ve only managed to see the first episode so far.

Regardless of the situation, the weekend offers an ideal opportunity for unwinding, taking it easy, and catching up on anything you might have missed during the week. This is particularly true for series like “Rings of Power,” where several episodes were released on their premiere day. The second season primarily focuses on Sauron, also known as Halbrand, and the danger he presents. Although each character has their individual storylines, they will eventually converge as the main antagonist gains power.

KAOS

Featuring Jeff Goldblum, KAOS is a fresh take on Greek mythology offered by Netflix in an engaging new series. Throughout its 8 episodes, we witness Zeus, the King of the Gods, becoming increasingly anxious and troubled upon discovering a wrinkle on his forehead one morning. It seems there’s more at play than just aging for the gods; they each face their own challenges.

Initially trusted deity, Hades – the lord of the Underworld – appears lethargic in transporting the deceased to the Underworld, as suggested. Meanwhile, Poseidon, the mighty ruler over the oceans and seasons, seems indifferent towards humanity. This situation is likely to escalate into chaos when a human, who might be fated to bring down the gods, becomes aware of this. Isn’t that fascinating?

K-Pop Idols

K-pop has made a significant impact not just in South Korea, but also in the United States. This music genre has experienced remarkable growth, leading many artists to achieve international superstardom. Apple TV+ presents us with a docuseries titled “K-Pop Idols“, offering an unprecedented glimpse into the backstage life of this global musical sensation. The series promises an intimate view of the intense reality behind K-pop stardom, as suggested in its synopsis.

The 6-part documentary series showcases musicians Jessi, CRAVITY, and BLACKSWAN, delving into their personal and professional struggles. Jessi is setting off on her first solo tour, CRAVITY is under pressure to impress their agency, while BLACKSWAN faces internal conflicts and significant changes within the group. I’m absolutely interested!
