Catch Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck’s Classic Comedy for Free Before Their New Film!
Approximately four decades following its initial stage performance, the iconic play “ ” has stood the test of time, with stars Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck reuniting for a fresh comedy movie. However, fans won’t have to pay to see these two again as they can catch them on June 1st when the film becomes available for free.
Under the direction of a renowned filmmaker, the story unfolds in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, where the daring, self-confident protagonist, Ferris Bueller (Bueller), feigns illness, cuts classes, and embarks on an extraordinary adventure across Chicago. Alongside his friends Cameron Frye (Ruck) and Sloane (Mia Sara), Ferris sets out on this day of mischief and fun. Simultaneously, the principal at his school, portrayed by Jeffrey Jones, becomes determined to expose Ferris’ trickery and catch him skipping classes.
In addition to Ruck and Broderick, the movie includes Ben Stein portraying Ferris’ teacher, who humorously says “Bueller, Bueller” during roll call. Jennifer Grey, well-known for her role in another production, plays Ferris’ sister Jeanie, and she appears as the rebellious character that Jeanie encounters at the police station following an incident where Principal Rooney is caught attempting to enter their house to expose Ferris’ deceit.
The classic movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” is filled with iconic lines and scenes, such as when Ferris and Cameron daringly decide to drive Cameron’s father’s 1961 Ferrari, leading to a whirlwind of events. This film has received high praise, earning a 83% critic score and an impressive 92% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Upon its release in 1986, it grossed $70.7 million at the box office.
Broderick and Ruck Will Be Teaming Up For A New Movie
In the forthcoming road trip comedy, the dynamic duo will take center stage in the movie titled “The Best Is Yet to Come“. This film is being penned by Alan Loeb and helmed by Jon Turtletaub, who is best known for directing the 2004 hit “National Treasure” as well as its 2007 sequel, “National Treasure: Book of Secrets“.
The upcoming movie marks the long-awaited reunion of Broderick and Ruck, last seen together in “Ferris Bueller.” In this new production, they portray two lifelong friends who find themselves in a predicament caused by a misunderstanding, forcing them to act quickly. This film is an adaptation of the 2019 French movie with the same title, written by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière.
Lately, Broderick, a five-time Emmy Award nominee throughout his career, graced our screens in the popular Hulu series [blank] and an episode of CBS’s Elsbeth. Meanwhile, Ruck, who was nominated for an Emmy in 2023 for his role in [blank], will soon be seen in a series that explores the origins of the Hershey chocolate company’s founders.
