Good news for Pokémon fans and airplane lovers! To celebrate 30 years of Pokémon and 40 years of international flights, All Nippon Airways (ANA) is launching a series of special Pokémon-themed planes. The first two – the “Pokémon Jet Red” and “Pokémon Jet Green” – have been revealed. These brightly colored planes are designed to feel like choosing your first Pokémon, and they’re ready to make your next trip an exciting adventure!
Fans of the original Pokémon games will love the “Pokémon Jet Red”! This Boeing 787-8 aircraft, launching on domestic routes in Japan by late July 2026, is painted a vibrant red and features Pikachu and popular Fire-type Pokémon starters – Charmander, Cyndaquil, and Torchic – in a beautiful design.
As a huge Pokémon fan, I’m so excited about the new Pokémon Jet Green! It’s a Boeing 787-9 that ANA is using for international flights, and it’s covered in a really fun, celebratory design with Pikachu and lots of Grass-type Pokémon from all the different games. They haven’t announced when it’ll start flying yet, but ANA also hinted they’re working on a Pokémon Jet Blue – a Boeing 737-800 – to complete the original starter trio! I can’t wait to see them all in the sky!
The Pokémon experience doesn’t end when you board the plane! ANA is extending the theme inside the aircraft with a fully immersive in-flight experience. Passengers on these special flights will enjoy Pokémon-themed headrest covers, limited-edition cups, and unique cocktail napkins during international flights. They’ll also receive commemorative boarding stickers and can buy exclusive Pokémon merchandise during their journey.
