Cat Deeley treats her sons to a festive day out at LaplandUK – five months on from her surprise split from husband of 12 years Patrick Kielty

Oh my gosh, you guys, I just saw the sweetest pictures! Cat Deeley took her little boys to LaplandUK after everything that happened with Patrick Kielty. It’s just…so good to see her doing something lovely and wholesome with them, you know? Like, after a split, you just want to see her happy, and LaplandUK? That’s pure magic! I’m seriously living for these photos; she deserves all the joy right now.

This Morning host Holly Willoughby, age 49, spent some fun and festive time with her sons, Milo, 9, and James, 6, who she shares with her husband, Irish comedian Dan Baldwin.

Cat shared photos on Instagram Monday of their fun day at a Christmas park, where they went ice skating and met Santa Claus.

The family also enjoyed a pantomime show, walking through lights and meeting some reindeer. 

She shared a sweet video with the caption: ‘We had an amazing day trip to Lapland and even met Father Christmas! We didn’t travel by sleigh, but it was still magical! ♥️✨’

‘And Grandma was our plus one! (she’s got a hotline to Santa) Xx’

This news follows the TV presenter’s announcement, five months ago, that she was divorcing her husband, Patrick, 54, after 12 years of marriage.

As a longtime follower, I can tell you that Patrick and Cat have made it very clear – their split was entirely between the two of them. They actually finalized things privately way back at the beginning of the year, but they didn’t share the news with everyone until much later. It’s good to know there wasn’t anyone else involved – it really was just them going their separate ways.

Okay, so… it’s true. They announced it themselves. Apparently, they’ve decided to split up and are already separated. And get this – they specifically said there’s no one else involved! I just… I can’t believe it. It feels like a punch to the gut, honestly. They were perfect together, or so I thought. But they’ve made their decision, and I guess I have to accept it, even though it completely breaks my heart.

We remain committed to co-parenting our children with love and ask that the media respect our family’s privacy during this time. We will not be making any further statements.

The Daily Mail reported that Patrick’s family was deeply upset by Cat’s absence from his mother’s funeral, and they believed that signaled the end of their marriage.

Honestly, when she didn’t show up back in March, it really hurt the Kielty family. It felt like a final sign to them that things between her and Patrick weren’t going to get better, and it’s been tough for all of us ever since. It just confirmed their fears that a reconciliation wasn’t possible.

A family member, visibly distressed, explained to the Daily Mail that even if the marriage was having problems, a significant event like his mother’s funeral would usually bring people together, at least temporarily. As they say in Northern Ireland, you’d ‘put on your best face’ for the occasion.

Cat clearly understood how much Mary meant to Patrick and should have been there to support him, perhaps with a comforting hand on his shoulder, as he mourned his mother’s passing.

People still remember that she remained in London and hosted This Morning that day.

I’ve lived here in Northern Ireland for years, and one thing you learn is that when someone needs help, the whole community rallies around them – it’s just what we do. It’s truly heartbreaking, though, and his family is still really struggling with everything that’s happened.

‘They still can’t believe it. It was the point when we all realised that that marriage had ended.’  

A representative for Cat told the Daily Mail that she stayed home with her two young children before and after school on what was a difficult day.

Cat and Patrick originally met in 2002 while working together on the BBC show Fame Academy, but they didn’t start dating until a decade later.

Cat recently shared the story of how Patrick surprised her by flying from Belfast to Los Angeles to turn their friendship into a relationship. He came for a celebratory brunch while she was hosting the American show, So You Can Dance.

Oh my gosh, I still remember when they finally confirmed they were together! It was May 2012, and I nearly fainted! Then, just a few months later, in September, they got married! It was a super private ceremony in Rome, which honestly just made it even more magical. I was so jealous of whoever got to witness that!

After living in California for ten years, the couple returned to the UK because Cat wanted to be near her family.
