Cast confirmed for new BBC crime drama Mint
The cast for the new BBC crime show Mint has been confirmed.
In simpler terms, the play named “Mint” can be characterized as a unique, humorous, yet dramatic tale. It primarily revolves around Shannon, a woman from a powerful criminal dynasty, who is on a desperate quest for love.
As a devoted fan, I’m eagerly anticipating the eight-episode journey that takes us into the treacherous realm of the criminal underworld, a place where our protagonist, Shannon, has been raised. However, the tide turns for Shannon when an intriguing figure named Arran enters her life, potentially altering the trajectory of her existence.

As reported by RadioTimes, actress Emma Laird has been cast in the primary role of Shannon, with Ben Coyle-Larner (better recognized as musician Loyle Carner) set to make his acting bow as Arran in the production.
The ensemble will also include Lewis Gribben, a renowned star from Generation Z, portraying the character Luke (older brother), Lindsay Duncan, best known for her role in Sherlock, playing grandma Ollie, Laura Fraser, famously from Breaking Bad, taking on the role of mum Cat, and Sam Riley, remembered for his work in Brighton Rock, as dad Dylan.
As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be part of the team bringing “Scrapper” to life on television for the first time! The amazing Charlotte Regan, who has made her mark with “Mint,” will be writing, directing, and producing this project as the creative powerhouse behind it all.
Regan expressed her feelings in a statement, saying she shed a few tears recently, overwhelmed by the greatness of this cast. She’s been emotionally drained to the core by them.
To be honest, I can hardly conceive of more admirable individuals who could have created these characters. Each one is destined for great success, and I’m incredibly thankful to have them working together.
Initially, when the program was greenlit, Lindsay Salt, head of BBC Drama, lauded the creative minds behind the production, expressing eagerness over Regan’s partnership with the BBC.
Charlotte Regan and her teams at Fearless Minds and House Productions have crafted a unique crime drama unlike any other, as she stated.
Highlighting the experiences of women within their families, this portrayal offers a unique perspective on what daily life in the criminal underworld can be. I’m absolutely thrilled that Charlotte decided to collaborate with the BBC for her debut television series.
Mint will air on BBC One and iPlayer.
