Carry-On star’s new horror movie gets chilling first trailer

Danielle Deadwyler’s upcoming horror movie has unveiled its first trailer.

In the Yard, there’s a woman whose story follows Widow Ramona (Deadwyler), who is deeply mourning after a tragic car accident claimed the life of her husband, Russell Hornsby.

Even though she herself was severely hurt, Ramona made every effort to look after her 14-year-old son Peyton Jackson and 6-year-old daughter Estella Kahiha on their remote farmstead all by herself.

One day, a woman appears in their yard. Ramona initially thinks the woman (Okwui Okpokwasili) might be lost or suffering from dementia, but as she approaches closer and closer to the house, it becomes evident that this is no ordinary individual, and her motives are far from peaceful.

Now, Ramona needs to gather her strength to shield herself and her kids, as this persistent woman refuses to stop bothering them.

In a YouTube release, you’ll find brief, spine-tingling glimpses of a tranquil countryside setting. A haunting poem, recited by a child, foreshadows the terror that follows.

Whenever the sun shines bright and there’s no breeze stirring, it’s as if she appears out of nowhere, sending a sudden shiver down my spine. Clad entirely in black, from her head to her toes, I can’t help but wonder how she managed to materialize so mysteriously.

The family spotted a mysterious individual, draped in a lengthy dark cloak, on their lawn. Curious, Ramona approached, only to have the woman whisper ominously, “today’s the day,” with a chilling tone, and reveal her bloodstained hands.

The film titled “The Woman in the Yard” is set to hit movie theaters on March 28, 2025. This screenplay is the debut feature work of writer Sam Stefanak. Notably, it brings back Deadwyler and director Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously collaborated on the 2024 action thriller “Carry-On.

The team, consisting of two members, will join forces with James Moran and Gabrielle Ebron in their roles as executive producers. Additionally, Jason Blum and Stephanie Allain have agreed to take on the producer positions for this project.

The Woman in the Yard will be released in cinemas on March 28, 2025.
