Carrie Underwood marked Veterans Day by sharing an old photo from her USO tour to the Persian Gulf while she was entertaining troops during the Iraq War.
During a 2006 visit to American soldiers in Iraq and Kuwait, the 42-year-old country singer was photographed happily shaking hands with a service member.
Wearing her trademark blonde ponytails and a camouflage jacket, she greeted a group of soldiers from the U.S. Army.
She posted a Veterans Day message expressing gratitude to everyone who has served, thanking them for their bravery and commitment to protecting our freedom.
Underwood was among many celebrities who shared stories about meeting American soldiers while observing the patriotic holiday.
Mark Wahlberg, now 54, shared an old Instagram photo from a 2018 visit to Fort Benning, a military base located in Georgia near the Alabama state line.


He was wearing a Wahlburgers baseball cap and remembered to mention the restaurant in his Veterans Day social media post.
He stated that he always eagerly accepts any chance to thank the members of our military for their service.
