Carrie Grant shocked her followers by unveiling a bold new look on social media: a vibrant red mullet. This marks a significant change from the shoulder-length hairstyle she’d maintained for years.
The 60-year-old TV presenter used to wear her bright red hair in long, soft waves. Recently, she changed her style to a shorter, layered cut with textured bangs and feathered ends.
People noticed a change in her appearance on Instagram Wednesday while she announced she’d be performing at the Greenbelt Festival in August.
Fans reacted positively to Carrie’s new appearance, with many calling her ‘amazing.’ Some were so surprised by the change that they initially didn’t realize it was her.
People shared enthusiastic feedback, saying things like ‘You look amazing!’ and ‘I love it!’ The stylist also thanked Carrie and expressed gratitude for being able to create her new look, with one person exclaiming, ‘Carrie, you look incredible!’
Everyone is loving Carrie’s new look! Comments include praise for how fabulous she looks, how stunning the style is, and appreciation for Helen’s excellent work. Many specifically love the wolf cut.
People were showering Carrie with compliments, saying she looked cool, fantastic, amazing, and gorgeous. Many specifically loved her hair and how well it suited her.
Carrie has had a thriving career, including representing the UK at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest as part of the band Sweet Dreams, performing their song ‘I’m Never Giving Up.’ She’s also been a judge on the talent show Fame Academy and has made appearances on The One Show.
Last year, while celebrating her 40th wedding anniversary to singer David Grant, 69, Carrie spoke publicly about the difficult and abusive childhood she experienced, sharing details of the personal challenges she’s overcome.
Carrie and David, who first became known on Fame Academy, began dating when Carrie was only 20. The presenter expressed excitement about their future together and ‘growing old’ with each other.
Carrie recently opened up about her difficult upbringing, explaining that she never had a positive example of a healthy marriage or relationship while growing up.
Carrie posted a lovely picture of herself with her husband, David, from the Jazz FM Awards 2025 at KOKO, and shared it with her 16,700 followers.
I wanted to share this thought: I’ve been with David Grant for almost 40 years, and next year will mark our 40th anniversary. I’ve known him since I was 20.
Looking back at all our photos from those days, and seeing how we’ve grown together over the years, feels truly special and wonderful.
‘I didn’t grow up with any grid of reference for marriage or relationship….so much abuse.
Having a partner won’t solve all your problems, but a difficult childhood doesn’t mean you can’t have a healthy and fulfilling relationship. Strong friendships, a supportive community, and love are what truly matter.
The singers have four children: Olive, who is 30 and uses they/them pronouns, and three adopted sons – Tylan, 23, Arlow, 19, and Nathan, 15. They adopted Tylan, Arlow, and Nathan when they were a baby.
In 2023, Carrie and David shared that they were accepting of their child Olive’s identity as non-binary, and they described it as a natural part of their family life.
Carrie explained to Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster on GB News that she and her partner didn’t overreact when their child, Olive, expressed a preference for they/them pronouns. They simply accepted it.
She explained that Olive uses they/them pronouns, and it shouldn’t be a concern. Olive is simply being themself.
I don’t constantly remind my child that they’re non-binary. They’re still the same person I’ve always loved.
Olive, Arlow, and Nathan all have ADHD, and both Tylan and Arlow are autistic.
Carrie recently shared on Loose Women that while she wouldn’t change things, raising children with learning difficulties is challenging.
She described them as truly remarkable – a little crazy, but in the best way. They’re incredibly creative and original, which makes them feel magical and inspiring, with a wonderfully broad imagination.
As a lifestyle expert, I often talk about creating the best environment for your kids, and that’s not always easy. One of the biggest hurdles I see parents face is dealing with schools that aren’t willing to adapt to their child’s unique needs. It’s incredibly frustrating when you feel like you’re fighting for the support your child deserves and the school isn’t meeting you halfway.
Dealing with a child who is at risk of suicide is incredibly challenging. We experienced this firsthand with our child, who needed frequent monitoring for suicidal thoughts over three years, and it deeply impacted us as parents.
It’s honestly wild – life throws you curveballs, right? Just today, my friend David shared something so relatable. He described his family as wonderfully ‘funky’ and ‘dysfunctional,’ and then revealed that they also found out two of their kids are on the autism spectrum. It really resonated with me – that honest, raw description of navigating family life.
We have three children, and all of them have been diagnosed with ADHD. We’re still trying to understand where this tendency comes from.
Some of us have dyspraxia, dyslexia, or dyscalculia, which affects math skills similarly to how dyslexia affects reading.
‘Somebody should shout “House!” Because we’ve got all our ducks in a row. ‘
Carrie has shared that she supports her children, explaining she needed time to process and mourn the realization that they were no longer identifying as daughters before she could accept and move forward.
