Carrie Bickmore Runs 18km in Old Makeup!

On Saturday, Carrie Bickmore didn’t just bask in her past achievements; instead, she ran an impressive 18 kilometers following a dazzling charity event.

On the vibrant evening of Friday, I was the one who graced the red carpet at the illustrious Brain Ball in Melbourne, turning heads in an awe-inspiring outfit that truly shone like the stars.

On a rainy Saturday, Carrie tested her physical limits by participating in a tough run. Her goal was to collect funds for the Beanies 4 Brain Cancer Foundation.

On Saturday, she posted a video of herself, visibly tired after a run, still clad in makeup from the previous evening and barely managing to speak.

‘I’m a very wet mama who ran…I can’t even speak…18.2 kilometres,’ Carrie said between gasps.

I’m still wearing yesterday’s makeup, she noted, as she coughed. She looked quite unlike her glamorous self from the red carpet event of last night.

As a steadfast pursuer of my goals, I too found myself setting a more modest target, similar to the unstoppable character Forrest Gump portrayed by Tom Hanks. Just as he ran and ran, I persisted in my journey.

She mentioned that she intended to accomplish fifteen tasks. However, it was raining heavily, making me feel as if I were a soaked rat. Despite this, I persisted in running, much like the character Forrest Gump.

As I found myself seated beside a courageous brain cancer warrior at last Friday’s Brain Ball, their indomitable spirit stirred something deep within me. Inspired by their resilience and determination, I decided then and there that I would lace up my running shoes come sunrise the next day. Running, for me, has become more than just a physical activity; it’s a testament to the human spirit’s ability to overcome adversity and a tribute to those who continue to fight their battles with grace and strength.

Carrie mentioned that she sat beside Sarah Kelly, a woman you might recognize from her Instagram posts, at the ball the previous night. She is a lovely mother currently fighting against brain cancer.

‘Gosh she’s just divine and I had a renewed sense of purpose as i ran today.’

Afterward, she appealed to her 767,000 devotees, encouraging them to aid her cause by contributing to the Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer Foundation.

‘So, for that 18ks, could I get you to donate $18?’ she asked. ‘$18 for $18ks.’

She remarked, “We’re almost there, everyone,” followed by another fit of coughing. Then, under her breath, she mumbled, “Carrie, that’s really irritating.

Carrie’s audience promptly responded to her inspiring post, with Sarah being among those who were specifically acknowledged in the video.

‘I loved hanging out with you last night!’ Sarah wrote.

“What an endurance champion, braving the harsh weather conditions and pushing beyond your initial plans. And a heartfelt thanks to everyone contributing $18 to support Carrie. Perhaps someone is donating $18,000 for 18k?

1st person said: ‘Wow, that’s impressive! Running 18 kilometers even after using makeup the previous night is truly iconic.’

2nd person added: ‘You have an extraordinary character and a heart that’s larger than life.’

On Friday, Carrie posted on Instagram her eye-catching outfit for the Brain Ball, undoubtedly captivating many spectators.

She exuded an air of Hollywood glamour in an eye-catching $6900 sequin beaded gown.

The striking ensemble, designed by Toni Maticevski in Melbourne, showcased a sleek, formfitting black top.

Meanwhile, the dark sequin skirt showcased a shiny silver bow adornment on the waistline, along with a high thigh slit that highlighted Carrie’s sleek legs.

Or:

As for the dark sequined skirt, it boasted a gleaming silver bow embellishment at the waist and displayed a high-thigh split, drawing attention to Carrie’s well-toned legs.

She matched the glittering gown with a pair of plain white Jimmy Choo heels.

She titled her photos, “A touch of glamour, a significant purpose – Moments from Maticevski, advocating for brain cancer research.

After Carrie disclosed her plans to participate in this year’s The Big Five Marathon within the Entabeni private game reserve in South Africa, it follows that…

This week, she shared with Confidential that, undoubtedly, the Big Five African wildlife would cause her to run swiftly.

‘She mentioned that last year the race had to be postponed due to a wandering lion. She chose not to research more about it as she fears it might deter her from participating.’

I’ll be heading there blindfolded, only removing it when I reach the starting line, and then we’ll see how things unfold.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t contain my excitement to run the half-marathon right beside Project alum, Ellidy Pullin, Olivia Molly Rogers, Sam Wood, Laura Enever, Trent Cotchin, and Merrick Watts! What an incredible lineup to share this journey with!

Carrie, along with her renowned group of pals, plan on fundraising for the Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer Organization – an institution she established in memory of her late spouse, Greg Lange, who tragically succumbed to brain cancer.

2015 saw Carrie expressing her intention to carry on Greg’s charitable work during her Gold Logie acceptance speech.

In 2005, when Carrie was only 25 years old, she and Greg chose to get married, despite him having a terminal illness. Their union resulted in the birth of their son, Oliver.
