Okay, so Lou Teasdale, who I absolutely adore, just talked about losing two people she was really close to – Caroline Flack and Liam Payne. It was a really raw and honest conversation about mental health, and honestly, it broke my heart to hear her talk about it. It’s just so important that people are opening up about these things, and Lou is always so brave. I’m sending her all my love, and thinking of Caroline and Liam too. It’s just… devastating, but so important she shared this.
The makeup artist, who is 41 years old, was good friends with the late host of Love Island. She also worked with Liam while he was in One Direction.
Lou shared that she felt responsible for her friend Caroline’s death and spoke about a strained relationship with her mother, whom she hasn’t contacted since Caroline died by suicide in 2020.
On Paul C. Brunson’s podcast, We Need To Talk, Lou explained what happened after she was blamed for issues with Caroline Flack’s mother, Christine.
Lou explained that disagreements often happen with parents in these situations because it’s a really difficult outcome for everyone involved. The first thing people tend to do is try to figure out who is to blame.
I understand exactly what occurred because I witnessed it firsthand, and I’m confident in my own assessment of the situation. I don’t think anyone is at fault, and I worry that assigning blame just creates another person who feels hurt and exposed.

Lou explained she’s made a conscious effort to avoid placing blame, saying she’s personally tried to avoid getting involved in discussions about who was at fault or what went wrong, and prefers to keep those details private.
Lou also spoke about the death of Liam, who died at age 31 after a fall from a balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, almost a year ago.
The mother of one child also became friends with Liam, as she had worked as One Direction’s make-up artist during and after their appearance on The X Factor.
Lou admitted she wasn’t shocked to hear about Liam’s mental health struggles before he passed away. His death was described as a sad accident.
She explained that he was surrounded by people – friends, family, his girlfriend – who weren’t equipped to help with his mental health.
I still can’t believe it. Caroline… she was found gone at her place in North East London on February 15th, 2020. It was just… devastating. And then, the inquest in August… they said it was suicide. It just doesn’t feel real, even now. It broke my heart.
Lou had been taking care of Caroline and had popped out to the shops.
Lou couldn’t get into Caroline’s house, so she called her father, Ian. He went to check on her and sadly discovered she had passed away.

Lou supposedly hoped an interview with Paul would help her shake off a negative image. This came after she quickly started dating her ex-boyfriend, Andy Carroll, following his breakup with Billi Mucklow.
According to a source, she’s worried people think she’s not who they believe her to be, especially since she started dating Andy shortly after his divorce from Billi.
Lou wants to clear up the confusion surrounding their relationship, which has been all over the news recently with constant reports of breakups and reconciliations.
She strongly values female friendships and is upset by the assumption that she’s done something to harm another woman. She also believes her relationship is misunderstood by those around her.
A new Disney+ documentary focuses on the final 24 hours of Caroline’s life, and her mother, Christine, plays a key role. The film investigates the circumstances surrounding her death and whether more could have been done to save her.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the details surrounding this tragic situation, and one question keeps coming up: why did Lou and Mollie leave Caroline alone, especially considering she’d confided in them about struggling the day before? It’s heartbreaking to think about, and so many of us are wondering what happened in those final hours and why she was left vulnerable when she clearly needed support.
In January, Lou publicly shared a sad message about suicide, explaining that she had done everything she could to support Caroline through her mental health difficulties.
I was really touched when she did that Instagram Q&A. Someone sent a message saying that if someone’s truly decided to end their life, there’s not much anyone can do to change their mind, and that she shouldn’t blame herself – she’d already done all she could. It was a really kind, if heartbreaking, thing to say, and I think it meant a lot to her, and to a lot of us who were following along.
Looking back on the past decade, Lou shared that suicide has deeply impacted her life, as it has for so many others. She explained that if you haven’t been directly affected, you likely know someone who has.

She continued: ‘I am currently working with an amazing charity Body and Soul.
Having supported two close friends through multiple suicide attempts, and witnessing them tragically pass away despite my best efforts, I’ve realized there’s a critical gap in mental health care. Despite the resources available through the NHS, private healthcare, and well-funded mental health helplines, there’s a real lack of effective support for people actively considering suicide.
Body and Soul provides a unique six-month support program for people who have attempted suicide. Remarkably, they report a 100% success rate – meaning no one who has completed their ‘You Are Not Alone’ course has attempted suicide again.
They provide free online workshops for anyone supporting someone struggling with suicidal thoughts, even if you don’t have a professional background – like me. I believe suicidal feelings can be contagious, so support is crucial.
A single suicide can deeply affect those left behind, and without adequate help, it can unfortunately increase the risk of additional suicides.
I’ve looked at many similar programs, and this is the only one I’ve found that truly makes a difference in people’s lives through its practical work.
If you’re struggling and need support, please contact them. You can also help by following their work or making a donation if you’re able.
Lou also shared the post and, along with her boyfriend Andy Carroll, donated £1000 to the charity’s You Are Not Alone program.

This post follows a conversation with a close friend of Lou, who shared with Katie Hind from the Mail about the distress caused by her falling out with Christine.
They wondered why Caroline’s friends were the ones taking care of her, questioning where her family was. Louise explained she had to return home to her young daughter and couldn’t continue to help.
They spent hours with Caroline, urging her to go to the hospital, but she refused. They stayed at her apartment as long as they could to ensure she was alright, but eventually had to leave.
It’s heartbreaking that Caroline’s mother is now blaming them. Christine and Lou used to be very close, but their relationship has completely fallen apart.
The death of Caroline deeply affected her friends and altered the course of their lives. Many believe she should now be allowed to rest undisturbed.
I’m honestly worried this documentary is going to re-open old wounds. It feels like, even if it doesn’t mean to, it could end up pointing fingers and assigning blame, and that’s something I’m really concerned about.
Lou is gradually getting her life back on track after the loss of her close friend in February 2020, and she’s recently begun dating footballer Andy.
Billi Mucklow, 36, who is married to Andy, confirmed they are divorcing in September. The couple had secretly separated earlier this year after being together for eleven years.
He announced that he and Billi separated earlier this year and have begun the process of getting divorced.
Although Billi said she was surprised by Andy’s relationship, her friends claim she’d suspected he was seeing someone, but didn’t know who. She learned about Lou just before the news became public.

Last month, Andy appeared to subtly criticize his soon-to-be ex-wife when he publicly spoke about his new relationship with Lou.
In an interview with The Times, Andy shared how his life has changed since meeting Lou. He explained that, as she does every year, Lou will be spending Christmas with her daughter, helping elderly people who are on their own.
I just… I can’t even explain it. She volunteers with Choose Love and fights for LGBTQ+ rights, and she actually *asked me* – me! – ‘Why would you hate anyone?’ It was like a lightning bolt. That’s it, that’s the person I need in my life. Seriously, I knew right then.
