Carol Kirkwood confesses that, because of their hectic work routines, she and her husband Steve Randall typically spend no more than 90 minutes together each day.
Every morning at 4 am, the television personality, who’s 63 years old, needs to report to the BBC studio located at Salford Quays. Meanwhile, her spouse, Steve, works as a policeman, often during off-hours.
In an honest conversation with OK Magazine, she shared: ‘Our schedules often keep us apart for most of the week.’
We calculated that on weekdays, we spend just one and a half hours with each other daily. Consequently, the time we share is incredibly valuable and cherished. It’s truly priceless.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but chuckle at the thought of their retirement being a surprise when they’ll finally have all the time in the world to enjoy each other’s company without any work-related constraints.
Following a work gathering in 2021, they forged a friendship that eventually grew into a romantic relationship.
In December 2023, they got married, marking nine years since her divorce from real estate tycoon Jimmy Kirkwood, with whom she was married for 25 years.
Additionally, Carol shared her journey towards accepting life without having children, even though it had been a long-held dream of hers. At one point, she pursued fertility options.

She playfully remarked about her upcoming second marriage, stating to a news outlet, “Love is even more delightful in a second go-round. I want to clarify that I hold no disdain for my first spouse, but this feels superior.
The celebrity from television likewise addressed the age disparity in her romance, emphasizing that it holds no significance for her.
In an interview with Saga Magazine, she stated: “This year, Steve turns 50. Regarding other people’s views on the age difference, I personally don’t perceive him as being younger than myself.
She also said she believes that meeting him was fate.
She mentioned that we both disliked the event we attended. It felt like a pivotal point in our lives – if I hadn’t been there, we wouldn’t have crossed paths.
