Carmen Sandiego is a Reboot of the Classic Espionage Adventure Coming in Q1 2025
As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say, the announcement of Carmen Sandiego reboot has me all aflutter! Ever since I was a young lad, solving mysteries and embarking on global adventures, Carmen Sandiego was always the epitome of excitement. Now, to step into her shoes (or rather, her signature red coat) is nothing short of a dream come true!
3 companies – Gameloft, HarperCollins Productions, and Netflix Games – have officially declared that they will be releasing a reboot of the adventure game called Carmen Sandiego in 2025, available on every platform.
Instead of finding Carmen Sandiego like in the 1985 game ‘Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?’, the new game lets you step into Carmen’s shoes, going on an international espionage journey across the globe. The game draws inspiration from the 1994 animated series ‘Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?’, where you will also be controlling the Player character, a nod to the live-action figure from the show.
The Player functions as Carmen’s trusted partner, assisting in the navigation of missions, solving puzzles, and outwitting V.I.L.E.’s malicious operatives. Equipped with cutting-edge tools and equipment, you will collect information, chase down criminals, and perform various tasks across diverse locations such as Australia, India, Japan, Egypt, Ghana, and Iceland.
In the first quarter of 2025, you’ll find Carmen Sandiego on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, personal computers, iOS devices, Android devices, as well as streaming on Netflix.
