Carlos was right not to listen to Sam in 911: Lone Star

Carlos was right not to listen to Sam in 911: Lone Star

As a seasoned gamer who has been through countless storylines and character arcs in various games, I must say that the latest episode of 911: Lone Star was a breath of fresh air. Carlos, a character often relegated to supporting roles, took center stage in more ways than one.

In the series “911: Lone Star”, we spent more extended periods with Carlos, not merely for him to deliver meals or watch over others. Instead, he was actively involved in resolving a case while simultaneously managing his personal affairs.

Caution: There are SPOILERS for 911: Lone Star season 5, episode 5 in this post.

The latest episode began by showing TK and Carlos attending marriage therapy sessions. TK expressed his concern about the increasing gap between them, which he attributed to Carlos being deeply engrossed in investigating his father’s murder. While TK acknowledges Carlos’s motivation for solving this mystery, he also yearns for his partner’s return.

As their first anniversary approaches, it’s apparent that Carlos has failed to remember. Seeking suggestions from Sam about suitable gift ideas for the occasion, it becomes evident that too many women tolerate a subpar effort. I’m thankful that Carlos aspires to surpass him in being a loving husband.

Sam is not the husband to strive to be in 911: Lone Star

Reflecting on our first anniversary, I arranged the stunning bouquet of flowers I’d chosen – a tradition that holds special meaning for us. Each time I select these blossoms, they become more than just a gift; they symbolize our enduring love and commitment.

Carlos notes that Sam seems to be putting in minimal effort, but Sam clarifies that this isn’t the case. Sam has a heavy workload on his mind, and his partner is well aware of it.

I’m curious about the wife’s viewpoint, as I believe there might be more to her story than meets the eye. It’s possible that she has lower expectations or is content in ways that aren’t immediately apparent to others, but it seems likely that she perceives him as less attentive and thoughtful when it comes to gift-giving.

Luckily, Carlos is quite proficient in the language of TK. Repeatedly acting in such a manner as he did on multiple occasions might have led to their divorce more swiftly than one can utter the word ‘divorce.’

Carlos comes up with the most thoughtful gift in 911: Lone Star

The episode concludes as TK and Carlos share presents. TK’s gift, thoughtfully chosen, ties into something Carlos had shared during their therapy sessions. He purchased a guitar and some lesson books, aiming for them to learn together.

Carlos didn’t think his gift was great after that, but it’s actually one of the most thoughtful gifts in the world. It’s just an empty box, but every night, Carlos will put everything to do with work in that box. He will forget about it all, showing that he was listening to TK in therapy and that he wants their marriage to work out.

Simply being understood and feeling cherished is frequently the greatest present. In this case, Carlos emerged victorious, and it was wise of him not to heed Sam’s advice.

911: Lone Star airs Mondays at 8/7c on FOX. Catch up the following day on Hulu.
