Carlos Santana hospitalized for dehydration, again, prior to San Antonio concert

On Tuesday night, rather than performing energetically on stage at San Antonio’s Majestic Theatre, Carlos Santana chose to seek medical attention at a hospital instead.

A 77-year-old musician experienced a non-critical health issue just before he was about to play at a venue in Texas during his current tour. The San Antonio Fire Department was called to the scene of the concert hall due to a report of an elderly person who had apparently passed out, which was confirmed by a representative to The Times on Wednesday. That individual was taken to the hospital.

On Wednesday, a spokesperson for Carlos Santana didn’t instantly provide a comment to The Times, yet they informed People that the concert scheduled for Tuesday had been rescheduled.

As a passionate cinephile, I found myself caught off guard during a recent movie premiere on a Tuesday night in Michigan. The charismatic lead guitarist, Carlos Santana, who’s no stranger to the silver screen of live performances, unexpectedly fell ill. However, he was swiftly taken care of at a nearby medical facility.

At the Majestic Theatre, where he was getting ready for tonight’s performance, Mr. Santana encountered an incident that turned out to be dehydration, according to Michael Vrionis, a representative of the “Oye Como Va” artist and president of Universal Tone Management. Given the situation, postponing the show seemed like the wisest choice to ensure Mr. Santata’s well-being.

In a recent statement, Vrionis mentioned that Santana is recovering well, anticipates coming back to San Antonio, and plans to continue with his tour. According to his website, Santana is set to perform on Wednesday at the Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land, Texas. Vrionis expressed gratitude for fans’ patience and announced that the Majestic Theatre concert will be rescheduled soon.

Santana recently experienced another episode of dehydration, following an “unintended slip” in January that required him to delay several performances. Initially, it was revealed he had a fall and fractured the small finger on his left hand, making it difficult for him to play the guitar for about six weeks.

Patti Smith explains that her recent stage tumble was due to post-migraine wooziness rather than anything serious, saying it’s not worth all the fuss.

Approximately three years ago, Santana ended up in the hospital following a collapse onstage during a performance in Michigan. Vrionis stated back then that the musician was overwhelmed by heat exhaustion and dehydration. Shortly after this health incident, Santana expressed gratitude for his fans’ support and shared the potential causes of his fainting episode.

I neglected to have meals and drink water, which led to my dehydration and fainting,” the artist known as Smooth penned. “May blessings and miracles find their way to each of you.

It appears that the Grammy-winning artist has a packed schedule of live shows coming up. Following his performance in Texas, he’s planning to bring his music on different tours throughout the U.S. and Europe all the way until November.
