Carhartt WIP Taps Okniceok for Pencil-Drawn T-Shirt Collection

Summary

  • Carhartt WIP teamed up with New York-based illustrator Oknotok on a collection of T-shirts featuring an eclectic mix of illustrations
  • Of the three designs, two are offered in black and white

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that I recently discovered Carhartt WIP collaborated with Oknotok (Danny Ische), based in New York City, on a series of graphic T-shirts. Drawing from memories of my youth and the vibrant culture of the internet, these illustrative pieces evoke a sense of nostalgia while playfully incorporating pixelated elements with a surprising photorealistic edge.

As a gaming enthusiast diving into the world of fashion, I’ve got to say, this capsule is something else! It’s packed with designs that cater to both men and women, and guess what? Two of these designs come in classic black and white.

Now, let me tell you about the tees. They’re not your average t-shirts; they’ve got a touch of artistry thanks to a surrealist twist. The Carhartt WIP logo on the front chest is there, but it’s been given a fresh makeover by the artist.

The iconic “C” transforms into a mesmerizing spiral staircase and an elegant swan pose, while the brand name is written in a cool print press style. So, whether you’re hitting the gaming arena or stepping out on the streets, these tees are sure to make a statement!

As a devoted admirer, I find myself captivated by each shirt’s back, meticulously crafted with intricate pencil collages that tell their own stories. One design transports me to a whimsical carnival of animals and Greek architecture, seamlessly blending the natural world with the grandeur of ancient structures. Another piece resonates deeply with the essence of spring, featuring joyful characters and exquisitely shaded flowers, accentuated by bold lines that leap off the fabric. With autumn upon us, I’m drawn to a women’s tee that evokes an atmospheric feel, weaving a dreamy mosaic of falling angels, candelabras, and jack-o’-lanterns, perfectly capturing the spirit of the season.
