Cardi B hospitalized after 'medical emergency,' pulls out of weekend music festival

As a cinephile with a penchant for hip-hop and a soft spot for resilient artists, I find myself deeply concerned about Cardi B’s recent “medical emergency.” Having followed her meteoric rise to fame since her breakout hit “Bodak Yellow,” it’s hard not to be moved by her struggle.

According to Cardi B, a recent health issue has compelled her to cancel her appearance at the Atlanta music festival taking place this weekend.

On a Wednesday post to her Instagram audience, the artist behind “WAP” and “I Like It” expressed sadness over some news, expressing gratitude for their understanding in the process.

Over the past few days, I’ve been in the hospital due to an unexpected health situation, which means I won’t be able to take the stage at ONE MusicFest this weekend. It truly saddens me that I can’t connect with my fans during this event, and believe me, if I could be there, I would. Bardi Gang, thank you for your understanding, patience, and support. Rest assured, I will return stronger than ever soon. Take care!

On Saturday, the trailblazing Grammy winner was scheduled to take center stage at Atlanta’s Civic Center for One Musicfest’s 15th anniversary. Joining this star-studded event were Earth, Wind & Fire, Nelly, Fantasia, Ari Lennox, Method Man and Redman. Additionally, rapper T.I., who is planning his retirement, was set to perform as part of the two-day festival lineup.

According to the announcement from the festival, the organizers have requested everyone to send their well-wishes for a swift recovery of Cardi, as she continues to deal with her health complications. They also mentioned that they are putting in extra effort to find a suitable substitute at such short notice.

This week, the “Up” rapper announced her intention to take legal action against someone responsible for a hoax call that led child welfare officials to visit her secluded estate on Monday. The artist made an explicit statement about this incident during a live Instagram broadcast from her hospital bed, where she had been recovering since the weekend. However, she did not specify the nature of her illness.

Cardi B’s representatives were silent when The Times requested further comments on Thursday.

Last week, the artist famous for “Bodak Yellow” and who recently had her third child in September, conducted an X Spaces session in Los Angeles. During this event, she disclosed information about her eagerly anticipated second studio album, which has been in development for some time (having released her debut album, titled “Invasion of Privacy,” back in 2018).

She expressed that it would be extraordinary and unlike anything else, as every step she takes should be extraordinary and original, according to her statement in Billboard. Apologies for the slight wait, but rest assured it won’t be an excessive delay; instead, it will be exceptional when it arrives.

In addition, she shared some recent developments about her private affairs, such as the ongoing divorce process with her separated spouse, Offset of the music group Migos.

She commented, “Things have been quite unusual lately,” she said. “I’ve been enjoying my single life, but I find myself feeling the need to curtail these activities as they might interfere with my work. I’m becoming cautious about sharing my time with others, for now, I’m just playing around… All I desire is tranquility.
