Cardi B has addressed accusations that she damaged the set during her January 31st appearance on Saturday Night Live.
TMZ reports that the 33-year-old rapper became upset after learning about a joke planned for Saturday Night Live featuring Nicki Minaj.
Ugh, all the gossip and little stories popping up… honestly, I don’t even care anymore! Let everyone talk, let them have their fun, let them come to the show! It’s all just fuel for the fire, you know? She posted this on X right after TMZ started reporting stuff, and it just gets me. It’s like she’s saying, ‘Bring it on!’ I’m so obsessed with this whole situation, it’s amazing.
A fan account replied to Cardi B’s tweet, pointing out that Alex Bruesewitz – a top advisor to Donald Trump who has been seen getting close to Nicki Minaj – shared a report from Pop Pulse.
Bruesewitz added the comment, ‘This is why people are calling her ‘crash out Cardi.”
A fan commented on how quickly people reacted to the news, saying Cardi B frustrates those who can’t dictate her actions. They added that her album title, ‘AM I THE DRAMA?’, perfectly captures the situation.
Cardi B seemed to suggest that the recent stories linking her to both Trump and Nicki Minaj weren’t accidental, responding with a skeptical, ‘Now all of a sudden these stories are coming out… really?’
This follows a recent online dispute between her and Bruesewitz regarding his assertion that Cardi B was connected to a Cybara report. The report claimed that Nicki Minaj’s pro-MAGA tweets were boosted by a network of bots and organized efforts.
As a lifestyle observer, I’ve definitely noticed the ongoing tension between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. It recently flared up again on X – formerly known as Twitter – just last September. It’s a rivalry that continues to play out publicly, and it’s always a topic of conversation!
According to reports on Wednesday, Cardi B reportedly began breaking things after someone made a joke about Nicki Minaj’s support for Donald Trump’s MAGA campaign.
The show planned to mention Nicki Minaj during the Weekend Update segment hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che.
It was also reported that the wisecrack was unrelated to Cardi or her feud with Minaj.
Sources say Cardi B reportedly threatened to cancel her performance and threw her phone at a television screen behind the stage.
According to sources at TMZ, the performer from the Bronx went into an SNL producer’s office and punched a screen, which broke and needed to be repaired.
Ultimately, the joke was removed from the show, and the artist who made “Bodak Yellow” performed as scheduled.
The Daily Mail has contacted both Cardi B’s team and Saturday Night Live for a statement, but they haven’t received a response yet.
After appearing on the comedy sketch show in January, Cardi B posted behind-the-scenes videos on Instagram.
She shared a video of herself with Dominican artist El Prodigio and excitedly announced how happy and honored she was to perform on the SNL stage with him. She called it a dream come true to be on one of America’s most famous stages.
I’m incredibly excited to share a unique blend of authentic Dominican and Bronx culture and music! It’s a sound that truly represents where I come from.
Cardi B and Nicki Minaj used to work together on music, including a collaboration on the 2017 Migos hit song, ‘MotorSport’.
The two had a well-known disagreement while making the song, and their conflict escalated into a physical fight in 2018.
Although the rappers initially agreed to a truce, their conflict flared up again in September when Nicki tweeted a series of critical messages about Cardi, which she later removed.
Cardi B responded by explaining she doesn’t see herself and Nicki Minaj as equals, pointing to their different ages as the reason.
She wrote on X, ‘Why are you all still talking about my album? It’s not what you think it is… After being in the music industry for 16 years, you should be comparing yourself to artists who started around the same time as you.’
Artists like Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Drake are the standard for success, and your numbers don’t compare. I’ve been following your career since high school, so it’s confusing why you’d even try to compare yourself to me.
Cardi B is currently touring with her Little Miss Drama Tour to promote her latest album, released on September 19th.
