Cardi B apologises for asking fans to buy her second album after seeing rental prices in New York

Cardi B has said sorry to her fans after realizing how expensive rent is in New York City, following her request for them to purchase her album.

The rapper, age 33, dropped her new album, ‘Am I The Drama,’ last month. It’s her first full album in five years, since 2018.

Although critics generally like the new songs, Cardi B has been working hard to promote the album, sharing it constantly on social media and even selling copies directly to fans in person.

The celebrity has apologized to fans during a live stream after finding out how expensive it is to rent in New York City.

Cardi B was interacting with her fans while lying on a bed, seemingly in a hotel room.

She expressed serious concern about the high rents, saying it’s unsafe and unbelievable that even a small one-bedroom apartment with a basic appliance like a white refrigerator costs $1,500. She questioned how people are managing to afford to live.

I sincerely apologize for asking everyone to support my album, especially considering the current economic climate. Rent in The Bronx is incredibly expensive, no matter the location, and I truly apologize for any burden this may cause.

She added: ‘It is crazy, I’m sorry ya’ll that I told you to buy my album.’

Fans loved the singer’s honest remarks, and one person playfully compared it to Taylor Swift, saying she wouldn’t be able to handle that level of taking responsibility and being humble.

A second said: ‘I’ve seen enough. Give her the democratic nomination..’

Someone commented that she hasn’t forgotten the difficulties she faced before becoming well-known, and that her past struggles allow her to genuinely connect with others.

One person added, ‘Cardi B is genuine and a great person, which is why I’m such a big fan.’

The Daily Mail reported earlier this year that Newark, New Jersey, experienced the biggest increase in rent prices of any city in the United States over the past year.

Rental costs rose by 8.1 percent over the past year, with average property prices increasing from $2,073 to $2,241.

Recently, Cardi B sparked some debate among fans when she tried selling copies of her album on the subway.

The Grammy winner decided to portray a starving artist trying to sell her CD on the subway.

When the car door opened, the rapper stepped into view, sporting white sweatpants and a black hoodie that covered her long, red hair.

Wearing black sandals, she started walking through the car and explained, ‘I’m selling these CDs because I’m trying to turn my life around.’

She explained, as she walked through the mostly empty car, that she used to be a professional ballerina but now wants to set a good example for her children.

She approached a potential customer and asked, “Would you mind purchasing my new album, ‘Am I The Drama’? It’s $9.99.”

She said they had records for around twenty or thirty dollars, and asked for support, explaining she was a mother of three.

When someone first gave her money, Cardi put it in her hoodie and gratefully said, ‘Thank you, I really appreciate that.’

She approached the camera and asked viewers to support a mother of three on September 19th, referencing the show ‘Am I The Drama?’

Cardi B has publicly stated she’s doing okay financially, but her recent actions suggest she might be facing money troubles after her split from Offset.

Rapper Quavo, age 33, is reportedly facing serious financial difficulties, with claims that he owes millions in back taxes.

The pair share three children, Kulture, seven, Wave, four and Blossom, 12 months.
