Captain America 4 runtime confirms it as one of the shortest MCU movies yet
The upcoming film titled “Captain America: Brave New World” has officially revealed its running time, positioning it as one of the shorter films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far.
In the upcoming movie, it is Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson who will first star in a standalone film as Captain America. He will be seen taking action to prevent a global crisis that arises following the inauguration of the freshly elected President Thaddeus Ross, portrayed by Harrison Ford.
It has been revealed (through IFCO) that the runtime of Brave New World is now 118 minutes, making it the shortest Captain America film after The First Avenger’s 124 minutes, and the seventh shortest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in total length.
In addition to Mackie, the movie will feature several recurring characters. Carl Lumbly plays Isaiah Bradley, Danny Ramirez portrays Joaquin Torres, Liv Tyler takes on the role of Betty Ross, and Tim Blake Nelson assumes the character of Samuel Sterns.
The newcomers to the cast are Shira Haas portraying Sabra, along with Giancarlo Esposito, Seth Rollins, and Xosha Roquemore.
Originally scheduled for release last summer, the movie has instead been set for a Valentine’s Day (February 14) premiere this year.
Meanwhile, Mackie has responded to his recent remarks made at a Disney gathering where he stated: “For me, Captain America embodies numerous concepts, and I believe ‘America’ shouldn’t be part of that representation.

Due to various videos appearing online (usually without showing the initial question), Mackie has made it clear on Instagram: “I want to make something clear – I’m incredibly patriotic, and having the opportunity to represent a legendary figure like Captain America is an unparalleled privilege.
