Capital’s Jordan North reveals he’ll be wearing a red thong to host his first Jingle Bell Ball – after taking a brutal swipe at his former Radio 1 show
As someone who has been following the music scene for quite some time now, I must say that the lineup for Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard is nothing short of phenomenal! The energy and excitement radiating from this event are palpable, and I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation building up within me.
Capital’s Jordan North has revealed he’ll be wearing a red thong to host his first Jingle Bell Ball, after taking a brutal swipe at his former Radio 1 show.
This year’s grand Christmas event hosted by the radio station will be happening at The O2 Arena on December 7th and 8th. An impressive array of artists such as Coldplay, Katy Perry, and Perrie Edwards from Little Mix are preparing to entertain us during this special occasion.
This year, I, Jordan (age 34), am thrilled to be teaming up as a co-host for the Jingle Bell Ball with Capital’s presenter, Chris Stark (age 37), and the lovely Sian Welby (age 38). Can’t wait to get started!
When inquired about his holiday costume for the upcoming grand weekend, Jordan replied: “I’ll be sporting a red swimsuit.
Sian asked: ‘You always do though?’
To which Jordan redplied: ‘Yeah, I always wear that so that’s what I’ll be wearing’
“He’s wearing his lucky underwear today, but you can only catch a glimpse when he bends over. So, toss an item on the stage and watch him reach for it. Make sure the cameras are ready.
When prompted about their favorite memory from the past year, Chris responded by saying, “I’d describe it as the Year of the North. This year, Jordan became a part of the Capital Breakfast team.
Reflecting on our initial performance together, it holds an incredibly profound significance in my personal life – a unique moment that I sincerely hope resonates with both of you as well. It marked the beginning of a journey that has proved to be exceptionally meaningful throughout this year.
The best moment of my year has undoubtedly been our initial performance and the journey since then. It’s incredible to see the positive reactions from so many people, and the Jingle Bell Ball will serve as a way to commemorate this success too.
Jordan expressed his agreement, stating that being part of Capital Breakfast was unquestionably the most cherished experience of his entire year!
Sian replied, “Me too! We’re the three best of friends,” to which Jordan inquired, “Yet, you had a child?” (Informal tone)
Sian responded: “Indeed, I did give birth to a child. That was quite an achievement. And yes, I’ve been experiencing what they call ‘baby brain,’ which explains why I momentarily forgot about it.
Recently, Jordan made a pointed criticism towards his previous BBC Radio 1 program while proudly sharing the audience numbers for his new Capital Breakfast show.
The radio DJ quit his Radio 1 show back in February after 10 years at the station after he was offered to replace Roman Kemp’s position at Capital.
In a suggestive manner, it seemed Jordan may have been alluding to a disagreement with his superiors at BBC Radio 1, when he exclaimed triumphantly, “We’re outperforming Radio 1” during his Saturday Kitchen visit.
On the cooking show, Jordan teamed up with his fellow hosts Sian Welby (aged 38) and Chris Stark (aged 37). He shared that since taking over the show in April, there has been a rise in listener numbers.
Afterward, he pointed out that more 15-24-year-olds tune into their morning program compared to Radio 1’s listeners.
He told host Matt Tebbutt: ‘Since we started in April the figures are up so we are doing alright.’
Matt subsequently said, “The total audience is approximately three million,” to which Jordan responded, “That’s close to half a million more listeners we’ve gained.
‘We are beating Radio 1 on younger audiences as well,’ he added as Sian let out a cheer.
Continuing to boast he said: ‘We have got more 15 to 20-year-olds listening to Capital Breakfast,’ as Matt joked: ‘You know your figures and he winked and agreed: ‘Oh, I know.’
In an attempt to steer the discussion, I subtly winked at Chris while cupping my hands to project my voice, calling out enthusiastically from across the bustling studio, “We’re giving Radio 1 a run for their money!
Hinting at a feud, Matt probed: ‘Did you leave on good terms?’
With a cheerful chuckle, Jordan gestured overhead, reassuringly saying, “Everything’s good, everything’s good,” followed by another enthusiastic declaration, “We’re winning!
Now, Jordan is gearing up to host his first Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard.
For the festive occasion, Katy Perry will be joined by Becky Hill, a Brit Award winner in the music industry, as well as KSI, who is both a musician and a popular figure on YouTube.
40-year-old Katy, one of the most successful music artists in history, is sure to excite fans with her powerful performances of hit songs like Roar, Dark Horse, Firework, and Teenage Dream from her extensive catalog.
In the meantime, Becky is expected to create a stir in London’s music scene with an array of hit dance tracks such as “Lose Control” and “My Heart Goes”.
After making a comeback at the Jingle Bell Ball, the popular Hip-Hop artist has just dropped his latest single titled “Thick Of It.
On the second evening as well, the talented musician Tom Grennan, a key figure in our first night’s program, is returning to provide more exciting entertainment. Known for his powerful vocals, expect him to perform popular hits such as “Little Bit of Love” and “Lionheart.
On this special night, dance enthusiasts can anticipate an exciting time as several well-known disc jockeys have been incorporated into the roster, with Joel Corry, a globally acclaimed DJ, taking the lead. Known primarily for his massive hit “Sorry” from 2019, Joel Corry gained popularity and set the stage for an unforgettable event.
At the upcoming event, the renowned artist Kygo – known for his hit productions as a producer, DJ, and remixer – will grace the stage for the first time. This presents an exclusive opportunity for Capital’s listeners to experience live performances of some of his most popular songs like “Higher Love,” featuring the legendary Whitney Houston, and “It Ain’t Me” with Selena Gomez.
At this upcoming festival event, we’ll have the pleasure of welcoming Sonny Fodera, a globally acclaimed house music producer, making his debut appearance. His energetic set is certain to get the crowd going with popular hits like “Turn Back Time,” “Closer,” and “You & I” that will undoubtedly shake the venue.

As a devoted listener of Capital Breakfast, I couldn’t help but share my excitement this very morning, echoing the sentiments of Jordan North, Sian Welby, and Chris Stark. The line-up today has been nothing short of fantastic!
