Capital FM DJ rushed to hospital with serious illness just weeks after giving birth to baby girl

Aimee Vivian from Capital Radio was quickly taken to the hospital due to a severe ailment, only a few weeks after welcoming a newborn daughter into her family.

37-year-old DJ announced the birth of her first daughter with husband Steve Carter on June 15. However, she was recently hospitalized this week due to a case of sepsis.

On her Instagram Story posted on Wednesday, she expressed that many queries about her condition remain unresolved and voiced her sadness over the inability to meet her newly born daughter, Charli.

Aimee expressed her gratitude for everyone’s thoughtful messages. She shared a brief update about herself, as she is still at the hospital following her admission on Sunday due to the development of sepsis.

There are many aspects that remain uncertain and require further understanding. As soon as possible, I will be more forthcoming and aim to collaborate with organizations focused on mastitis to increase public awareness about this condition.

‘We know how underfunded women’s health is, but seriously things have got to change.’

She went on to say: “If it were men who produced milk, conditions like blocked ducts and mastitis wouldn’t exist. Once things calm down, if anyone has contacts with charities or businesses, please share, as I’m eager to connect with them.

Experiencing the first month of a baby’s life without you is quite unusual and against the normality of the parent-child bonding process.

I eagerly tick off the minutes each morning until she arrives, only to be disheartened by her departure at night. Yet, I channel all my strength towards improving myself for her.

She concluded: ‘Lastly to my superhuman husband, thank you. Without you, I would have broken.’

Sepsis, sometimes called blood infection or septicemia, is a severe health issue that can be fatal, often resulting from an existing infection or trauma.

Early detection and prompt treatment are crucial for a patient’s health, as failure to catch it early often leads to rapid worsening. Regrettably, swift diagnosis and intervention are not common occurrences.

In the early stages, sepsis can be mistaken for a chest infection, flu or upset stomach.

This condition is particularly prevalent and poses a significant risk for the elderly, expectant mothers, infants under a year old, individuals suffering from long-term illnesses, and those with compromised immune systems.

Last month, Aimee revealed that she had given birth to her first child, as fans noticed her absence at the yearly Summertime Ball held at Wembley Stadium.

She posted an enchanting picture of herself holding the baby swathed in a blanket embroidered with ‘Charli’, along with the caption: ‘Charli Carter. The child who captured my heart eternally.’

Earlier today, Aimee shared a flashback from the Summertime Ball of last year and wrote: “Sending best wishes to my @capitalofficial team and everyone for a fantastic Summertime Ball day.

I’m regretfully absent because our newest family member has come into the world. Consequently, we’ve been deeply engrossed in a whirlwind of newborn affection.

I found myself: Trading the thrill of backstage at Wembley for the comfort of my couch, juggling a glass of milk and a diaper this year. A baby update coming up soon!

Since 2015, Aimee Vivian has served as a disc jockey for Capital FM, presenting the afternoon program from Monday through Saturday.
