Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is Also Skipping Xbox For Some Reason

As a lifelong fan of Capcom games, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment when I hear about another one of their classic fighting games skipping the Xbox platform. I remember the thrill of playing Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Capcom vs. SNK on my original Xbox back in the day, and it’s disheartening to see that experience potentially being missed out on by fellow Xbox fans like myself.

Capcom has unveiled Capcom Fighting Collection 2, a sequel to the initial Capcom Fighting Collection that was released in 2022 featuring ten timeless arcade games. Unfortunately, unlike its predecessor, the second collection will not be available on Xbox platforms.

Next year, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is set to release on PS4, Switch, and PC. This collection comprises eight classic games from Capcom’s impressive archive, featuring titles such as Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER, Project Justice (also known as Rival Schools 2), Power Stone, Power Stone 2, and Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein.

Fans of Capcom’s classic fighting games may find themselves disappointed yet again, as the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics has also decided not to release on Xbox. If this pattern continues, it might lead to a sad situation for these gamers. However, there’s still hope if Microsoft manages to resolve this issue.

2025 marks the anticipated release of Capcom Fighting Collection 2. Here’s hoping that someday, this and the Marvel vs. Capcom series make their way onto Xbox platforms. Keep your fingers crossed!
