Cannes CHAOS! A$AP Rocky Dances, Bill Murray Throws Water!
At Cannes Film Festival on Monday, the stars shone brightly during their time under the limelight at numerous photo opportunities.
Drawing considerable attention was rap artist A$AP Rocky, who captivated spectators when dancing alongside filmmaker Spike Lee during the promotion of their project, Highest 2 Lowest.
In this neo-noir crime thriller, Denzel Washington and Ice Spice take on roles alongside one another. The story revolves around a powerful figure in the music industry, portrayed by Denzel, who finds himself under threat from a kidnap-for-ransom scheme.
A$AP appeared ecstatic while endorsing the movie, a modern take on Akira Kurosawa’s crime thriller “High and Low,” as he danced with Spike before jumping up to strike poses for photos on the table.
At the festival, it wasn’t just them who were causing disorder; Bill Murray made sure that his presence at the Phoenician Scheme photocall would not be easily forgotten by the photographers.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: In an unexpected turn of events, at 74, I find myself portraying the Almighty in Wes Anderson’s intriguing blend of espionage and dark comedy. However, my actions deviated significantly from divine standards when, with a mischievous glint in my eye, I playfully tossed a glass of water into the audience, breaking the serene atmosphere for a moment of shared laughter.

At the photocall, Bill’s fellow actors – Alexandre Desplat, Benicio del Toro, Mia Wasikowska, Michael Cera, and Wes – stood in stunned silence as he unleashed his fury.
In essence, the Phoenician Scheme revolves around a prosperous father and daughter, who find themselves in danger as they navigate challenges posed by influential businessmen, hostile foreign extremists, and relentless killers, following her ascension to inherit her father’s vast fortune.
In the movie, Benedict Cumberbatch is among the cast, and during the photocall, he was seen wearing a sling on his arm without disclosing the reason behind his injury.
TopMob has contacted Benedict’s representatives for comment.
Things looked more civilised over at the Splitsville photocall.
In the movie, Dakota Johnson plays a role where she explores the complexities of an open marriage with her partner. At the press event, she was stunningly elegant in a simple, yet chic black gown.
The actress, with long brown hair pulled back into a loose side braid, accentuated her appearance by wearing nearly invisible high heels.
Next to her stood Adria Arjona, radiantly elegant in a white dress featuring a cowl neck and a slim-fitting waistline.

2021’s Cannes Film Festival is happening amidst President Trump’s promise to impose taxes on foreign movies.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d liken attending Cannes to participating in the global olympics of cinema. This prestigious event brings together filmmakers, dealmakers, and press from far and wide. The pinnacle of this cinematic spectacle is the coveted Palme d’Or, a golden trophy symbolizing the ultimate achievement in our field, handed out at the finale.
Filmmakers hail from all over the world, bringing their movies for display, whereas dealmakers stay up late finalizing transactions to distribute completed films and production packages across different regions.
According to Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho, he is releasing a film in an atmosphere reminiscent of the Colosseum, as he returns to Cannes with his new thriller titled ‘The Secret Agent,’ which takes place during Brazil’s dictatorship.
Preparation is crucial, as this event can be quite intense, similar to the anticipation you feel when climbing the stairs towards a roller coaster at the Palais.
Trump stirred up surprise in both Hollywood and the global film industry by declaring, on May 4th, that films produced outside of the U.S. would be subjected to a 100% import tax.
The White House hasn’t made any definitive choices yet. They’re considering encouraging domestic productions through federal incentives instead of tariffs as an alternative. However, the declaration served as a reminder that global conflicts have the power to unsettle even long-standing cultural establishments.
The Cannes Film Festival initially appeared during World War II times, as the growing fascism in Italy prompted the establishment of a counterpart to the Venice Film Festival, which was at that time under government control.

Ever since I’ve been following the scene, Cannes has stood steadfast as a guiding light for cinematic artists like myself. A multitude of filmmakers, including me, have sought its hallowed grounds to establish our identities in the world of cinema.
This year is similar to others, but a few debutant filmmakers at Cannes have already gained quite a bit of recognition.
Actresses Kristen Stewart, Scarlett Johansson, and Harris Dickinson have each premiered their first directorial efforts in the Un Certain Regard sidebar at the Cannes Film Festival.
Many seasoned attendees have come back for this year’s event, among them Tom Cruise from Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Robert De Niro, who was awarded an honorary Palme d’Or 49 years after his debut at Cannes with Taxi Driver, and Quentin Tarantino, honoring low-budget Western director George Sherman.
Meanwhile Scarlett’s directorial debut Eleanor The Great, will be unveiled on May 20.
Nevertheless, due to his ongoing legal disputes with ex-castmate Blake Lively, it’s unlikely that Justin Baldoni will show up.
Over the last few years, it seems that the glamorous event on the Croisette has garnered more focus on the stylish attire of its famous attendees rather than the lineup of movies being shown.
Instead, here are the newly enacted modesty regulations for this year’s festival, established with considerations for propriety.

Organizers explain that the strict rule is aimed at discouraging celebrities from wearing revealing, nearly naked dresses that expose more than they cover, on the red carpet.
According to a Cannes Festival guideline, it’s important to note that exposure of bare skin is not allowed on the red carpet or any other festival venue for reasons of decency.
At the festival, it’s mandatory for ushers to enforce a rule that only those adhering to these guidelines will be allowed on the red carpet.
A newly announced policy at the festival includes unexpected changes – detailed in an outline explaining what is expected from attendees concerning their behavior.
Visitors should gather at the Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière over a bustling fortnight, as it plays host to some of the most prestigious movie showcases, including top-tier film screenings.
It is now common for this well-known location to prefer a more traditional dress style, often choosing formal attire such as suits, tuxedos, and long evening gowns instead of attention-grabbing outfits.
In addition to simple little black dresses, cocktail dresses, formal pantsuits, fancy blouses, and stylish flat or high-heeled sandals are all acceptable attire options.
It’s uncertain if French TV broadcasters, concerned about showing nudity, might have influenced the initial application of this stricter policy.

Prominent movie galas such as the Cannes Film Festival are broadcast on television in France by France Télévisions.
Lately, the annual event has been drawing a greater number of models and social media personalities instead of actors and movie creators. This shift has led to a rise in bold, daring fashion choices on the red carpet.
In 2021, the renowned American model, Bella Hadid, showcased her décolletage in a deep-necked black dress at the viewing of Tre Piani (Three Floors).
Three years on, she repeated a striking move, leaving the audience at the 2024 gala spellbound when she graced the premiere of Donald Trump’s biopic “The Apprentice” without a bra under a semi-transparent chocolate-hued evening gown.
