Candace Cameron Bure Gets Real About Taking Down A Swimsuit Photo After Being ‘Flooded’ With Body-Shaming Comments

Year-round Christmas spirit is a constant for Candace Cameron Bure and other actors scheduled for 2025 holiday movies. Consequently, when summer heat called for winter wear during filming, it’s no surprise she wanted to escape to the beach afterwards. However, those sunny snaps from the shore have vanished from her social media, as they were promptly removed and followed by an explanation behind their disappearance.

The Full House alum took to her Instagram story to answer some questions from her followers, and one query involved some photos that were no longer showing up on Candace Cameron Bure’s page. The Great American Family actress got real with the fan, who asked if she had posted a bikini pic and then deleted it, responding:

Indeed, I spent my day at the beach. Unlike some, I opted for a one-piece suit rather than a bikini. I was simply enjoying the last bits of summer sun. The day was filled with fun. However, the focus shifted from the enjoyment to discussions about my physique, which wasn’t the intent. In the end, I decided to remove the post as it didn’t seem worth the attention.

Candace Cameron Bure posted pictures from her beach trip to share some summer fun, but some people focused on comments about her appearance instead. Feeling uneasy about this, she decided to remove the photos from her post.

Throughout her career, spanning back to when she became famous as D.J. Tanner on Full House at just 11 years old, the actress has faced constant public scrutiny regarding her physical appearance. This even extended to the show itself, as evidenced by a Season 4 episode where her character went to extreme and potentially unhealthy measures to lose weight for a pool party.

The incident in question brings discomfort to Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, her former co-stars, who have good reason to feel this way, as it appears that even after nearly 35 years, Bure is still grappling with the harsh comments from the public.

Candace Cameron Bure has voiced her thoughts on the matter previously, stating that, although she’s an adult who can handle the daily criticism she encounters, it’s crucial to consider how such negative remarks may impact young women, teenagers, and even our own kids.

Despite the fact that the actress can handle hardships by occasionally removing posts, she finds it challenging not to be affected by others’ comments. She openly discusses how harsh the industry has been towards her body as a female actor in Hollywood.

After spending numerous years in this situation, it’s understandable why the star of ‘Fuller House’ might prefer to remove her beach pictures instead of reading comments discussing her body and the story they might weave around it.

If you’re keen on catching more of Candace Cameron Bure, she has some films slated to premiere on GAF this Christmas. Additionally, you can watch her on the original series ‘Full House’, which is accessible with a Hulu subscription, or its spinoff, ‘Fuller House’, that’s available through Netflix.
