
For actress Camilla Luddington, a recent blood test provided insights into why she had been exhibiting a more subdued and less energetic personality.
On Wednesday, the actress from “Grey’s Anatomy” shared details about her health, disclosing that she has been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune disorder. In a recent episode of their podcast “Call It What It Is,” Luddington and co-star Jessica Capshaw discussed this topic. Luddington expressed feelings of being sluggish, tired, and desiring to rest, stating that she hadn’t considered the possibility that there could be a medical explanation for these symptoms.
Luddington, aged 41, shared with her co-host that she had some blood tests a few months back and her doctor noticed a small concern. Initially, she was somewhat alarmed when the term “autoimmune disease” came up in her discussion with the doctor, but they eased her worries by explaining that Hashimoto’s hyperthyroidism is quite a common condition.

This gradually developing condition may lead to a spectrum of symptoms such as excessive tiredness, reduced energy levels, heightened cold sensitivity, dry skin, hair loss, and weight increase.
Luddington mentioned that she encountered several symptoms linked to Hashimoto’s, however, she attributed them to aging and premenopausal signs instead. Upon discovering the reason behind her symptoms, Luddington offered a personal perspective on the condition, saying, “It makes you feel a bit sluggish.
