Cameron Diaz looked remarkably young when she stepped onto the red carpet at the 2026 WWD Style Awards in Los Angeles on Friday. It was a rare public appearance for the actress.
The actress, age 53, was recently spotted at a glamorous event alongside stars like Hailey Bieber and Demi Moore. She had previously been seen enjoying a more casual day out with her family.
The event celebrated the talented people who shape fashion, beauty, and accessories on the red carpet, according to WWD.
Diaz looked stunning in a long black dress, which she paired with a black blazer draped over her shoulders.
To complete her all-black outfit, she put on black closed-toe pumps and carried a black purse.
Her blonde hair was parted on one side and cascaded in soft waves down to her shoulders.
The Mask star also opted for glamorous makeup which comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes.
I just loved how she completed her look! She used a warm blush to really highlight her cheekbones and give her skin this amazing glow. And the finishing touch? A beautiful, vibrant red satin lipstick that just pulled everything together.
Diaz kept her accessories simple, letting her outfit shine, and finished the look with small gold earrings.
The actress stopped briefly for photos on the red carpet when she arrived at the event at the Regent Santa Monica Beach.
She was joined by her close friend and makeup artist, Gucci Westman, who received an award for Red Carpet Makeup Artist of the Year in 2026.
Westman donned an all-black outfit as well by wearing a sheer black dress and heels.
Other honorees during the glitzy night included Khloe Kardashian and Pamela Anderson.
Diaz has often discussed her views on getting older and the unrealistic beauty expectations in Hollywood.
In a 2022 interview on Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast, the actress from ‘The Holiday’ shared that she feels like a target of the unfair treatment and exploitation that women often face.
I’ve fallen for all those beauty standards. It’s difficult not to compare yourself to others and feel critical of your own appearance.
Diaz at the time had expressed her excitement to be in her 50s, saying ‘you just know more.’
Honestly, it’s amazing what she said about aging! She totally gets it – it’s not about wrinkles or trying to look younger, and that’s exactly what I love about her. She just doesn’t care about all that superficial stuff, and it’s so refreshing! It’s about so much more than just appearances, and she gets that.
The actress confessed she doesn’t have an extensive skincare routine. She explained, ‘I really don’t do much at all. I own a ton of products, but I’m lucky if I use them twice a month.’
Diaz had Botox done years ago, but later told Entertainment Tonight in 2014 that she regretted it.
She explained that she’d had Botox once before, describing it as a very subtle treatment.
The results were so unnatural, I immediately didn’t want them. I’d prefer to see my face age normally than to have a face that doesn’t look like my own.
Cameron Diaz has been gradually returning to acting, and recently starred in the Netflix film Back In Action, which was released in January 2025.
It had been her first film project in 10 years after she took a lengthy break from Hollywood.
She spent several years focusing on raising her two young children, six-year-old Raddix and one-year-old Cardinal, with her husband, Benji Madden.
I was really concentrating on that at the time. Besides being a mom and going about my daily life, that’s what I was focused on,” she explained in a Netflix interview for the movie Back In Action.
That’s basically the whole story. I’m just focused on surviving and taking things one day at a time, like any parent.
She’s completed several projects recently, and is even bringing back her popular character, Princess Fiona, for a fifth Shrek movie.
Diaz is also starring in a new Netflix action comedy called Bad Day, and she was spotted filming it last autumn.
The actor starred in the film with Danielle Brooks, Mark Duplass, and Ed O’Neill as fellow cast members.
According to IMDB, the story centers around a mother trying to keep a simple promise to her daughter while dealing with the worst day of her life.
