The Show is facing pressure to postpone its scheduled broadcast on Tuesday evening, due to concerns raised by critics that the event showcases gun use in an attractive and appealing manner through a shooting contest.
In this upcoming broadcast, scheduled for 7:30 PM on Channel Nine and 9Now, the Blockheads embark on an exciting adventure as they engage in a clay pigeon shooting contest at Clunes Field & Game.
Instead, Animal Justice Party MP Georgie Purcell expressed her support for a petition aiming to have the segment removed, via her Instagram account.
In his post on Tuesday, Purcell mentioned that tonight’s episode of The Block highlights Clunes Field & Game, an organization dedicated to encouraging recreational hunting, which includes native wildlife.
Purcell added that guns, ‘have no place on family TV. This sends a dangerous message to children.’
Following that, she urged, “Let’s ask Channel Nine to take down the current episode,” and shared a link for supporters to sign a petition expressing their worries.

The petition proposes that the episode of the Scott Cam-led show, which aired on Tuesday evening, should be removed from broadcast because it provided a nationwide stage for the Clunes Field & Game Branch.
As a loyal supporter, I find myself questioning the company’s practices after learning they advocate for recreational hunting, which appears to be the taking of animals merely for enjoyment. The idea of this being broadcasted on family television sparks unease within me.
‘Featuring them on a prime-time, family-friendly show normalises gun[s]…’ the petition reads.
Upon contact by Daily Mail, a representative from Nine stated that the clay shooting event was carried out securely, yet declined to disclose whether they contemplated removing the episode due to the expressed worries.
As an over-the-moon fan, I can tell you that the clay shooting event on The Block was meticulously monitored by seasoned professionals to ensure our beloved contestants were under constant protective care.
The Field & Game Australia organization offers a variety of activities and advantages centered around conservation, hunting, and clay pigeon shooting sports.
In the specific episode of The Block, I’ll be focusing solely on the clay target shooting activities available at the Clunes facility. I want to make it clear that this segment does not involve the hunting of live animals for recreation.
Field & Game Australia advocates for conservation by controlling “pest wildlife hunting,” while also endorsing “sustainable and ethical game hunting.” They additionally support various other initiatives.

Clunes Field & Game recently revealed the branch would be featured on the reality renovation show.
On Instagram, the business shared that Clunes Field & Game Branch will make an appearance on the widely-watched series ‘The Block’ next Tuesday, August 19th, airing at 7:30 PM!
Regardless of whether you’re a part of Clunes or not, don’t let this opportunity slip by! Catch the club performing live on national television!
Additionally, the following hashtags were incorporated into the post: “#TheBlock”, “#FGAlife”, “#Hunting”, “#Conservation”, and “#ClayTargetShooting”.
