Outlander prequel Blood of My Blood has confirmed a summer release date.
2020 marked the initial announcement of a new series that will center around the parents of the main characters, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Beauchamp (Caitríona Balfe), from Outlander.
Excitedly speaking, I can’t hide my anticipation as I share this news – starting from the 8th of August in the USA, the new show is set to air! However, fellow enthusiasts in the UK will have to wait until the 9th to stream it on MGM+. Here’s hoping for a simultaneous release soon!
The spinoff will focus on two parallel love stories set in different times.
Claire’s parents, Hermione Corfield as Julia Moriston and Jeremy Irvine as Henry Beauchamp, crossed paths during World War I. Meanwhile, Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie and Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser find love against the stunning Scottish Highlands backdrop in the 18th century.

The main actors featured are Tony Curran as Lord Lovat, Mary & George’s grandparent, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Séamus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan, and Brian McCardie from “Line of Duty,” who made his last television appearance before his passing.
On the television series “Blood of My Blood”, Matthew B Roberts functions as the showrunner. Executive producer credits for this production also go to Ronald B Moore, known for his role in developing the popular series “Outlander” based on Diana Gabaldon’s novels.

As for the main show, Outlander is expected to bow out with its eighth season.
Following the broadcast of the second installment of episodes for the seventh chapter in January, it was confirmed by Balfe that her character, Claire, will appear again in the concluding part.
She expressed her hope that everyone had a great journey, and eagerly anticipated our final reunion in Season 8, which she announced on Instagram with a promise to meet again.
The Outlander spin-off titled “Blood of My Blood” is set to debut in the United States on Starz on August 8th, and new episodes will be released every week. Meanwhile, viewers in the UK can catch it starting on August 9th on MGM+.
