To align with the 50th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, the show is characterized as a thrilling, action-packed adventure set in the exotic waters of the Bahamas.

Each famous personality will take on the challenge of swimming with various types of sharks, progressing to larger and riskier species as they advance.

The event is scheduled for Bimini, an island in the Bahamas, where approximately ten distinct species of sharks reside, among them Bull sharks, Hammerheads, and Tiger sharks.

Regarding the program, Karen Plumb, Chief of Factual Entertainment at Plimsoll Productions, expressed: “Our team at Plimsoll is exceptionally suited to innovate this genre that seamlessly combines conservation efforts with captivating popular culture.

We’re always seeking fresh methods for narrating wildlife tales, and we believe that our unique twist on the fish-out-of-water theme, presented 50 years after ‘Jaws’, has the potential to significantly alter people’s views of these crucial predators before it’s too late.

Besides swimming alongside sharks, celebrities will encounter daring obstacles that provoke fear throughout their journey, all while gaining insights into the crucial roles sharks play within our marine ecosystems.

According to the announcement, the show aims to offer a fresh viewpoint on often misjudged animals, and will have famous personalities learn about the predator’s important role in the food chain and our environment. This realization underscores the fact that a world without these famously fearsome creatures could be truly terrifying.

SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters is coming soon to ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
