Ever since I joined the TV show back in 2023, I’ve had the privilege of playing Sister Veronica – a character that audiences have grown to adore. As a nun and health worker, she’s known for her spirited demeanor and direct approach, which resonates with many viewers.
As a fervent admirer putting this into my own words, let me say: Initially, I had my doubts about Sister Veronica, but boy, was I wrong! She’s not just a midwife, she’s a miracle worker, bringing new life into the world and tirelessly advocating for better social care. And the way she earns the respect of her peers at Nonnatus House? Simply remarkable.
Previously this year, a Canadian actress shared stories about some “strange” occurrences happening on set, with multiple colleagues claiming they saw “unusual activities.” There are whispers that the structure in Surrey is inhabited by a spectral Edwardian woman, fueling speculations of haunting.
Rebecca shared with My Weekly magazine that she prefers not to visit the place alone because of strange occurrences like lights flickering and eerie male laughter echoing near the ladies’ restrooms.
Gethings stated that as they were securing the office of Dr. Turner for the night, our medical professional heard a noise, which sounded like a bang, outside the office.
She dashed into the darkness, snapped a picture, and upon closer inspection, there’s a silhouette of an Edwardian woman, seemingly carrying a pig.
The period piece is shot at the Longcross Studios located in Surrey, with an old Victorian mansion standing in for Nonnatus House.
Beyond a touch of eerieness, it should be noted that Rebecca, recognized from her roles in The Thick of It on BBC and Extras with Ricky Gervais, additionally revealed that the cast of Call the Midwife feel more like kin to one another.

At present, they’re shooting the fifteenth season of the program. This season features a pair of Christmas episodes, with scenes in Hong Kong and Poplar, followed by eight full-length episodes that take place in early 1971.
It’s expected that Call the Midwife will end with its 15th series, as per recent reports, next year.
Since its debut in 2012, this touching series has broadcasted a grand total of over 100 episodes across 14 seasons, chronicling the lives of nurses and nuns in the town of Poplar.
This year’s Christmas episode has already been confirmed, and it appears that the cast is currently engaged in shooting scenes for the upcoming season airing next year.
According to The Daily Star, it is reported that season 15 will mark the end of the series, with producers aiming for the beloved drama to conclude with a bang.
According to a source, after many years filled with drama and multiple births, the popular series “Call The Midwife” is planning to conclude its run. The creative team has chosen to bring the show to a finish and bid farewell.
This marks the final appearance of these cherished characters. The storylines will be concluded, wrapping up many unresolved plots. It’s a bittersweet moment for everyone involved, as they are both saddened by the series conclusion and determined to give the show a fitting farewell.
Indeed, it seems there’s a possibility that Call The Midwife could make a comeback at some point in the future. This was hinted by an insider who mentioned, ‘The creators are even considering reviving the show for a one-off event. After all, anything can happen!’
