Call the Midwife star Jenny Agutter addresses what’s next for Sister Julienne: “It’s an absolute puzzle”
Actress Jenny Agutter, known for her role as Sister Julienne on “Call the Midwife,” discusses where her character is headed following the dramatic events in the series finale.
In March, the 14th season of the show concluded, leaving viewers wondering about the series’ continuation following the revelation by Julienne regarding the organization’s financial troubles.
To Telly Visions, Agutter conceded it was a complete enigma at the finale, hinting vaguely that the course ahead remains unclear.

The sentiment is similar to that of an actor at the conclusion of a TV show asking, “What’s going to happen next?” I can certainly empathize with Sister Julienne’s thoughts, she remarked.
She is utterly unwavering in her commitment to both her faith and serving the community. However, the question remains: Which community will she be serving? In due time, they mention plans of joining an overseas mission team, but not within the United Kingdom.
This Christmas season, the two-part episode of our series will transport you to Hong Kong as the elderly nuns from Nonnatus House embark on a journey abroad. Additionally, a fresh spin-off movie is set in foreign lands.
Agutter proposed that the show expanding globally more often in the future seems like an enjoyable idea.
She went on to say, “In this field, it’s all about what can be purchased and what appeals as an idea, so we must consider various proposals.” She added that she enjoys traveling but prefers not to stay overseas for too long. It would be exciting to visit new places instead.
Originally, The Order found its place within the nation, yet it took on a new form. Perhaps it involves journeys, assignments, or anything entirely unexpected. Such an undertaking requires being absent for some time, but the excitement makes it worthwhile.
It was announced earlier this month that there will be both a spin-off series and a movie for Call the Midwife, with the TV series focusing on events during World War II and the movie set in 1972, showcasing beloved characters from the original series.
Call the Midwife airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
