It seems that the bond between these two characters, portrayed so beautifully by Helen George and Olly Rix, has undergone a significant shift, with Trixie returning to Poplar without Matthew.

It seems our beloved onscreen couple, Trixie and Matthew Aylward (played by Olly Rix), have experienced a bittersweet separation off-screen, drifting apart after their characters’ storyline was cut short.
Helen and Olly were said to be supporting each other as they navigated their respective splits.
In July 2023, she ended her relationship with Jack Ashton, which had lasted for seven years, and around the same time, Olly parted ways with his girlfriend, Natasha Fagri.

Following her initial appearances in series 14 filming, Helen’s upcoming Italian vacation takes place, having been previously announced that her TV partner Olly Rix would no longer be a part of the BBC program.
Since the show began in 2012, the actress portraying Nurse Trixie Franklin has evolved her character into a brave midwife, mirroring the series’ approach to the 1970s era.
In simple terms, the fourteenth season of “Call The Midwife” is set to start off with a holiday-themed episode on Christmas Day, followed by a complete series of eight episodes that will be aired throughout January 2025.
In the final episode of the 13th series, Trixie decided to follow her husband, Matthew, who had departed for New York.
It seems that, despite initial reports suggesting actor Olly wouldn’t be part of the series anymore, Trixie is set to reappear in upcoming episodes, but this time without her spouse, Trixie.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘They were there for each other in the wake of their splits.
It appears that their friendship has cooled, as evidenced by the fact that they’ve both unfollowed each other on social media.
‘Olly even went one step further and deleted a picture of him and Helen from Instagram.’
