Call the Midwife spoilers follow.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that one of my beloved characters from Call the Midwife is set to grace our screens once more in the approaching 15th season!

Recording for each episode started in May, and their official Instagram account has been providing behind-the-scenes updates throughout the process.

Today’s post announces: “Check out who’s on the set this morning! It’s none other than Teddy Berriman along with his mother Nicola.

“Teddy returns as character Andrew Trottwood for a scorching day of filming!

In the fourth episode of season 14 titled ‘Hope’, we were introduced to Andrew and his on-screen mother Jill (portrayed by Joanna Horton). We later learned that Andrew had contracted measles when he was young, which left him with significant care requirements.

Despite her best efforts, his mother continues to aid him, yet the council’s withdrawal of funds for an appropriate school left her with no choice but to seek out a school nearer home – unfortunately, there wasn’t one available. Additionally, their home elevator frequently malfunctioned, necessitating her to manually transport him up the stairs in his wheelchair.

The sisters stepped in after an injury became infected, which ultimately resulted in them advocating for his readmission into his specialized school by pressuring the local council. Additionally, he formed new friendships, and Jill successfully persuaded many individuals to enroll in a measles vaccination program.

Outside of “Call the Midwife,” actor Teddy Berriman has also been seen in the Sky film “A Christmas Number One” alongside “Game of Thrones'” Iwan Rheon, as well as the children’s series “Kit & Pup.

Simultaneously, it has been disclosed that the forthcoming Christmas episode will unfold in both Hong Kong and Poplar. Additionally, Trixie, portrayed by Helen George, along with others, are expected to participate in demonstrations for Women’s Liberation Movement.

Call the Midwife returns at Christmas to BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
